Good Morning Brenda and everyone........ Not alot happening here today. Same old same old. I am eating my yogurt w/ Kashi and checking the board. Then I need to get to back to my job. I have lots of paperwork to do after our meetings yesterday. I am driving down to Iowa for a long weekend to visit Nic and the rest of the family. I need to get started with my packing. I love to go down there but hate the 5 hour drive. My body doesn't like to ride that long anymore. Gas prices are rediculous....it will cost a fortune in gas this trip!!! Hope everyone has a good day!! Love and hugs, connie d

Good Morning Brenda & My OFF Family! It's a beautiful day here on the East Coast, wish I could be outside playing instead of here at my desk in work :(    Oh well, guess I need to make the best of it!  We had a nice breakfast here this morning to thank the support staff, they had quite a good spread and I made all good choices, though this afternoon they have what they are calling "After School Snacks" which last year was so great, but this year I will be passing on that one, the thing I like most about Staff Appreciation Day is they give us a free PTO day, something they started to do back in 2000, so keep the breakfast, the snacks, just give me my free day off ;) Otherwise today I will be going to the gym and not much else happening. Hope you all have a splendid day wherever you are or might be going! Prayers and positive thoughts from here on the East Coast, Laureen

Wow I am beat today. I had to go to a meeting over 100 miles away last night. It was in a small town in midle Iowa, I don't want to say it was small, but there was newpaper coverage and photos taken just because I was there.  I am still smiling at the wonderful group of nice people I met. One little old lady on her own has sent more that 20 boxes to servicemen in the sandbox.   I woke up horrified today, as Ilooked back at yesterday I realized Ihad eaten like old fat Jean yesterday and it scared me. On the way to my meeting I stopped and got an Arbys Jr. Roast beef sandwich, I took off the top bun, but I  ate all the rest of it with Horsey sauce, then I ate a (servings for 3 )bag of Skittles, at the meeting they had sandwiches and junk, I ate half a turkey sandwich( took off half the bread) with Mayo and a lemon bar. When I got home last night I drank 6 oz of beer and a bag of fritos. Oh my Oh my. Today is a new day, no  nonsense!! ( Thats me giving myself a pep talk) The boss has one meeting after another today and I am caught up on my work so I will get to play today. Good thing I feel like I have brain mush today. My arthritis is bad today. Spring is alway bad, I usually blame the increase of yard work but I haven't done any yet. Boss left me a card with tanning minutes in it for Admin assistance day. What a dear.. Have a blessed day

Not much new here.  The Washington coast is clear, cold and windy.  However, it is supposed to be warmer over the weekend.  :)  I am 8 days post op and am still on sick leave.  I took a month off which I now realize was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much.  I'm being good .... following the rules but am anxious to move from full liquids to pureed foods!  And even better would be to chew on something.  I'm a bit melancholy these days.  Not sure why.   I see my surgeon tomorrow and the nutritionist.  Just learned the insurance doesn't cover the nut.  Eeeeek!

Not much happening here in southwest Michigan this afternoon. I spent Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning working in my flower beds. Body is aching some!

One of the V.P.'s at the bank treated everyone to a huge Dairy Queen blizzard cake for Admin. Asst. Day. I thanked her, but declined.

Have on a new capri outfit this afternoon - size LARGE.
Oh my I just can't believe it. Had to order a couple pairs of shorts to wear around here (don't go away from home in them) cause I had given all my old ones away.

Still having some problems with "head hunger" and too many snacks. Thinking a couple days of liquids only might get me back on track.

Shout out to our "Linda in Az.".....hope you are feeling better soon.

Pat

Hi Brenda and everyone: The weather sure is nice lately; unfortunately, the pollen is high and I haven't been able to open the windows yet and enjoy the fresh air. Usually can't until June sometime.  Brenda, hopefully sometime tonight you will be able to get your photo. A friend of mine from work is going to upload my photos to Kodakgallery.com, I'll send it to you and you can get someone (Joyce? Jan?) to make your avatar. Hopefully. Still don't have a computer at home. Computer geek's wife had gall bladder surgery followed by complications; while I was on vacation, he was working on my friend's system in a nearby town (I found this out yesterday when I talked to Mary Kay ... so she told me not to be miffed at the geek.) Still, I would like to have my computer back. I'm paying for Internet access and I can't use it. I'm so tired today. I had to get up early to see ortho doc and didn't sleep all that well last night because of the back and the knee. At least ortho doc listened to me and didn't just throw up his hands and suggest PT again. He scheduled a bone scan, then added, "But I don't think we're going to find anything wrong." Then he suggested having me see one of his colleagues. "I just don't know why you're still having pain, Eileen." Yeah, well, neither do I, and I don't have a medical degree. All I know is I still have a lot of pain. I'm not unhappy I had the surgery ... I can walk farther, walk better up the stairs and uphill; still can't stand for long periods, however. The big problem is I can't sit for long periods of time (which I have to do) because that's when the knee hurts, when it's bent. My friend Mary Kay suggested it might ******ve problem. Maybe I should bring her along when I go to the doctor next time. After the doctor's appointment, I met Mary Kay for lunch at Applebee's. I had a $25 gift card ... the only way I could go out for a meal. She needed a break from the mess that is her house. When she was in Louisiana this winter visiting her family, her furnace went out, her pipes froze and burst and she had a flood in her house. So far the damages are at $70,000 but they're still finding more and more things that need to be replaced. MK is thinking of selling and moving to Baton Rouge anyway (she's retired), but she lost a lot of stuff. It was good to see her and we had a nice visit over lunch. I brought a whole lot home for another meal, of course.  We have a long night ahead with a review tonight. I'm going to need more caffeine. Somebody keep me awake! Hey, Carla, congrats on your promotion! That's great ... too bad it didn't come with a raise.  Brenda, have they checked your iron levels? Sometimes low iron levels can cause headaches ... that's what caused some of my terrible headaches a couple of years back. I was having bad headaches and the yearly checkup at MMPC showed I had low iron and low iron stores; since then, I've been on iron supplements. I still have headaches, but nothing quite as bad. Well, I actually have work already to do. Have a good night.

Eileen, they checked my iron levels just a couple of weeks ago and they are fine. I am getting to feel a bit better since I started taking the potassium citrate so I am wondering if it was from the water pill and no potassium.

Well it IS hump day, but tomorrow is MY Friday!  I'm taking tomorrow off to get the dogs to the vets.  I never used to take time off around my BD but last year did and it was fun.  So I did it again this year too.  Got an interesting telephone call today from someone I have chatted with (male someone****asionally I think we connected on Yahoo.  Anyway, he asked me to go see Evita with him Saturday afternoon.  So I said yes.  He seems to be quite nice and is funny to talk with. He writes very well also.   2 bushes down, 1 more for sure to go.....then stumps to get up and out!  I had 3 bushes in the front of my house.  I have cut down two of them and plan to do the third tomorrow or Friday.  Tomorrow sounds to be busy as I have work, then bariatric surgeon visit from surgery 3 weeks ago to fix me up and then go to S Toledo to help with agility training.  Anyway, bushes.  I never liked them all that well, they were not trimmed well previously and looked like big rectangles.  I want to put in a weeping cherry tree between the 2 windows, then a burning busy, a lilac or flowering almond (or who knows, maybe all of the above!) and some perennials.  It will be a big bed but should look pretty.  I even got the back yard mowed again tonight-it needed it!  That's all my news that isn't!  hope you all have a good Thursday!
