60 Minutes

Hey East coasters!  Did any one watch 60 Minutes tonight?  There was a segment on rny surgery.

I saw it too.  Was good presentatipn focused on the positive side. My dh is a RN and was really interested in the bit they had on diabetes and how fast it was cured. 

I thought it was a good piece too....at least they were on the positive side of WLS....have seen some programs that were pretty negative. I'd have to say I was a little surprised that most of those people that had been diabetic said they were "cured" almost at once....don't know about that....It was 4-5 MONTHS before I was completely off my diabetes meds.....I probably could have come off sooner, but definately not immediately right after the surgery.

I was also a little surprised at the number of surgeries that are being done.....a lot LESS than I had thought.

All in all it was excellent advertising for WLS.
