Morning everyone,

The weather here was pretty yucky this weekend. Rain mixed with tiny ice balls yesterday. I went to a baby shower for my neice yesterday. This will be her second, her daughter is 10 so its like starting over. She called me last week and asked if I could make her crib bedding. She is having a boy and she wanted a Steeler pattern. I started a quilted blanket on Wednesday and finished at 1:15 yesterday. The shower was at 2pm! I have the bumper pads cut out but still need to sew them and I have the idea in my head for the window treatments. She isn't due until July but if I put off making them they will just get moved farther down my list of things to do.

I'm meeting Lora at the track in 10 minutes. Gotta go.

Mary

Mary, I used crib sheets to make Erin's daughters window treatment. They turned out really cute. I'll email you a picture. It was fun to have a "reason" to sew again. I used to sew all of my own clothes and quit when nothing looked like I wanted it to on me. Perhaps I'll start again when we get settled into our new house. I enjoy making aprons from vintage fabrics and patterns. Karen C

HIJACK......... Karen C.....You make aprons....do you sell them??? My daughter Jamie wants one and I haven't been able to find any she likes. She likes the older looking vintage type. Do you make full or half aprons?? Hugs, connie d

Connie, Everything is in storage right now. Decluttering you know! I make the full cobbler type aprons. I often buy them at thrift stores and then copy the patterns. I don't sell them. They are pretty labor intensive and I just enjoy making them. I'm sure I won't be making any until we get settled into our house this fall.  When I sew I make a huge MESS and I don't need any more of those around for a while. Just trying to get this house in shape is enough of a mess. What size is your daughter? I often find cute ones that are made of vintage fabrics. I'll keep my eye out. Karen C

I understand completely about the not wanting to clutter right now. My daughter Jamie is  about a size 12....average size. Let me know if you come across anything. I am always looking too. Just no luck around here. I would be glad to pay for it and shipping to of course. You are so sweet!! Hugs, connie d

Oh boy a mission. I love missions!! And I would not be adding clutter to my area! You do want "coverup" aprons don't you? Ones around the waist just do nothing for me. I should wear one when I eat also. Not nearly as bad now that I don't have a "two plate shelf" in the front tho! Karen C

well so far so good about our getting flooded. Our lake keeps rising but has slowed down a lot now. Instead of 10 feet a day rising it is only rising a foot a day. I still have my emergency box by the back door with important papers, couple of changes of clothes and meds and my jug of protein powder. lol so im ready to leave it something should happen that we had to leave in a hurry. Dont think that will happen now but i will leave it there till the water starts going down again.  Pray that we dont get any more rain for awhile anyway.  Woke up this morning with frost on everything. So had to run out like a crazy person and use the water hose on everything. People always look at me crazy for doing that but if you get the frost off flowers before the sun hits them there is never any problem. My grandmother told me that and i have done that for years and saved lots and lots of plants that way.  Today we are finishing up painting a new cabinet we bouth and put in the kitchen , My cabinets are painted with an Ivory gloss paint and then dry brushed with stain to make them look old. So now i have to do the drybrushing to the cabinet and will be done.  Since the weather has been so bad we have been caulking and painting all sorts of things in the house. good way to get some badly needed house stuff done.  Need to clean and straighten one more cabinet.  Where is Karen C???? I know she sure has her hands full with puppies and babies and getting ready to sell house and building new one. wow that is quite a lot.

Hi Aime!  Spa pedicures are truly wonderful!  Many years ago I used to get full body wraps.  I'd look like a mummy but they really worked!  I lost over 80 inches and my skin felt wonderful!  I'm sitting here wondering why I'm getting pains in my pouch area and just realized I forgot to take my pills this morning.  Protonix pills are great!  Guess I better run home and do that.  It's a good thing I only work 10 min. from home. Have a great day everyone! Judy
