Hey Kathi,  They gave me Loveinex injections while I was in the hospital.   I don't know about you, but I have two rolls of fat on my belly, one upper,  where the surgery holes are, and one lower, than my waist band.   That's where they put those other little itty bitty shots.  Not too bad, except now I look like a conect the dots puzzle.  Could be fun if I  had a little kid aroud with a marker.      I just crack myself up.

Too funny, Reggie! It's so good to see you on line and have your spirit so soon after surgery!  Good for you.....  Thanks for the support and I have a little girl around the condo complex and I'll let her connect the dots! I saw the needle and I didn't think it looked bad at all.....  I can do this.  I can do this.  I really can do this!  I want to do this...... Kathi

I had my surgery open, I am thankful for that. My scar is like 5 inches long and can hardly see it. I wanted my surgeon to be able to see everything in there that needed to be seen and not hiden when using the little cameras. That's my feelings on the subject.  A small scar or no surgery? I have a life now that I can live.... Hope she finds what she wants.  Scar tissue is hard to deal with on any surgery.

judy-i chose open RNY as well- i wanted my doc to be able to really look around and feel- he actually held my gall bladder in his hand to see if it needed to come out-also you are under anesthesia shorter he told me... and the length of time under anesthesia should be a very big concern for her-not a scar! jmho...doc sounds like he is cautious and honest-- hope she listens... i had a bad experience with the gas that they fill you with for lap surgery when i had tubes tied in 1980-so i wanted open-my RNY scar is now 4 inches long- and there are very few  times i wish i had lap but i am not a bathing beauty!! it's all a personal choice but i think your sister needs to be open to open!!!!

Good Morning all, Have a cold so feeling a little peaked. Went to my WLS support group last night, it was OK. Not sure I will go back. Work is going well, I think I am getting into the swing of things. Supposed to go to dinner with co-worker that took over my old job. So we'll see how that goes. Got up at 4am again...this is getting old...if I could just sleep 1 or 2 more hours... Well, we are finally going to get into the 60s this weekend. We have had the 2nd snowiest winter in Spokane history. Last one was in the 1940s. Take Care all, Cheryl

Good Morning! Yippee it's Wednesday!  One more workday and I'm outta here. . .  yesterday was a looong day, hoping that today goes faster! Aime, I'm so happy that you have a friend who treats you with respect and that you get along and want the same things, that's a good foundation to build on and I certainly want you to be happy! Kathi, sorry you ran into a glitch, but you are closer to surgery now then ever before and it will happen soon and think of all the practice you've had towards healthier living by what you've been through already. Judy, prayers going out for your co-workers daughter and you make me laugh with your sense of humor. . . My grass is the greenest on the block where I live, and I'm sure it has to do with my friend Owen, who came over the weekend after I had my surgery back in October and redid the front lawn due to the fact that I had grubs, but it is so green and now I think I am going to have to spend some part of my upcoming weekend taking care of it, matter of fact, Owen is coming over to work on it on Friday or Sat, he is such a dear friend and he loves to garden, so I'll take lessons from him as I'm still learning about all this stuff, being a city girl most of my life. . .  in addition to the green grass, my seedum that came from Owen's yard last year, which I planted are growing nicely, as are my peonies bushes that I planted on Mother's Day last year, my Mother's, oldest daughter's and my favorite flower.   Anyway, today I am at work, tonight is a gym night and then it will be bedtime. Hope you all have a wonderful day and prayers and positive thoughts for all. Hugs, Laureen
