Preop liquid diet starts tomorrow!
Argh! Please send some good thoughts my way! I start my preop diet for ten days starting tomorrow bright and early. I have all my stuff divided up into ziplocs (like some smart cookie on the boards told me to do). It sure doesn't look like much for Jilly I am beginning to doubt that I can do this and I haven't even started yet. Hopefully, I will feel better after a good night's sleep and lots of prayers.
thanks for lettin' me whine........................
jILL, YOU CAN DO THIS...tHE FIRST DAY IS THE HARDEST AND THEN YOU GET INTO KETOSIS AND IT WILL BE EASIER. i DID OPTIFAST ABOUT 18 YRS AGO, i WAS ON FOR 5 MONTHS AND FELT GREAT. iT IS KINDA NICE NOT TO FEEL BLOATING. nOT TO BE A SLAVE TO FOOD. jUST FOR TWO WEEKS THAT IS ALL. tHINK OF IT AS A NEW DAY,TO BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY TO PREPARE FOR A SAFER SURGERY AND WEIGHTLOSS. rEMEMBER TOMORROW IS NOT ANOTHER DIET. tHIS IS PRE-OP ORDERED FROM YOU SURGEON.. You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beverley
Jilly, just remember that what we can't do for a lifetime (and sometimes less time! lol) we can do for one day. Just one day at a time and if that is to long then just a moment at a time. You can do it, and we are here for you when you need us. I am keeping you in prayers, I am also sending love and hugs to you.
Jilly, In the first place, change that little frowny sad face to a happy, smiley face. If you start out sad it sure won't make the journey any easier.....
Like when you get out of bed in the mornings saying you're already tired...and the day drags?
It's only one day.... today.....and you can do it!! Oh, well, tomorrow is just one day, too....
You can't get to the 'good place' except one day at a time....
And as my OFF Sistahs would expect, and I'll not let them down, put on your big girl panties and drink the damned stuff.
Now, GULP, go do something that isn't food related.... shopping and looking at smaller sizes would be a good start... go get something about 2 sizes smaller...you're gonna need it shortly.... and then about 6 sizes smaller to put in the closet. Don't spend a lot... just put it so you'll know you have it and you want to get into it.... now GULP....
Hugs to ya... you have more support on this board than you'll ever wrap your brain around.
Janet
I got thru the two week liquid diet with no problems. The packets you get from MMPC aren't really all that bad. I usually planned out my food for the day and it worked for me...Dr. Kemmeter asked me to lose 15 lbs. before the surgery, so I actually started cutting way back and beginning exercise in June (surgery was in August) by my surgery day I had lost 26 lbs. I liked their choc. shakes the best, and the tomato soup the least. The time will go fast, so hang in there.
Send me a PM sometime and tell me a little more about yourself .... ok?

Done! Your Ticker:
Hi Jill - the unknown is always scary - the liquid diet really isn't that bad especially with an end in sight and also knowing what those 10 days are leading up to. I was soooooo ready for this surgery there wasn't anything that was going to stop me - the days that I had to be on the liquid diet was really fast! Stay positive!! YOU can do this!
