Hey you all!!!!!!
I am trying to post about good things these days instead of always asking stipid questions. My new depression meds seem to be helping or I've just made up my mind to be happy again. I haven't lost any weight since the last of Jan but I am trying to get things under control and lose these last 30 pounds. The weather is getting better so I can get outside where I love to be and do things. My boyfriend haha came and rototilled my garden and then it rained for a week but it will make it eaiser for me to use my little rototiller to fine tune it. I have my cabbage plants and I am ready to put them out as soon as it dries up some. I didn't have a garden last year the first year without one in 35 years and I missed it but it was a bad year any way hot and dry. I love getting dirt under my fingernail the old fart hates it so I let him take care of the puppy and read and I go about my way and get dirty. The wow moment kidn of sneek in every once in awhile it is so much fun seeing some I haven't seen since last year. When I walked into HR Block last week the lady didn't know who I was until she saw H and she grabbed me and hugged me and told me how great I look those are the kind of wow moments I like. The same thing happened when I went into the place I get the mower parts every year. The only thing that bothers me now is the gas from all the sugar subs I use in my tea and sugar free foods like popsickles and jello and such it almost knocks us out. When we are in the car we have to open the windows. Gas X helps some but I don't like taking it all the time. Well time to go get dressed and get to work. I have a support group meeting tommorrow night and it is here at my home because I got tired of messing around with the library because they don't even let me know when they cancel me out. I need to find a new place if I ever get more than 2 or 3 members. Love you all. Birdy
Good morning to you Birdy, and I am glad that things are going better for you.
My husband Bill who is also from TN loves to get out in the yard and do things. We moved into an apartment a few years ago and he misses that the most. He loved planting tomatoes and flowers and mowing the grass and trimming. He even told the guy who trims here that he will be doing his own trimming but he told Bill he had to do everyone. He of course never trims the way Bill wants it. lol I on the other hand like the plants and flowers but don't want anything to do with getting them pretty. I guess opposites do attract.
I hope that you get to having more people in you support group. I find it helpful when we get together and talk about things. I always learn something from someone. It never fails. I look forward to our support group each month. It is always on the first Tuesday of the month but they are talking about starting another one in the middle of the month too. I hope that works out. You can always use support in your journey no matter what journey it is.
I hope you know that no question is stupid. This is a learning experience and we are all learning together. I learn from each persons questions and hope that someone learns from mine too. This journey is a never ending learning one and we are all in this together.
I am sending love and hugs to you today and always. I hope that we can become good friends.
I find that attending more than one support group per month helps me. I attended meeting prior to surgery and one per month for 7 months post op. I'd lost 100 pounds (then at 222 pounds) since RNY surgery from May 10, 2006 through Xmas, 2006. I thought I'd reached my goal wt. I stopped going to meetings. Then almost 3 months later I weighed myself for the first time since I stopped the meetings, and I'd gained 20 pounds, now up to 242. I attended meetings again, and started going to a couple of more for a total of 3 per month. Got "back in the saddle" with the RNY protocol, got back down to the 222, and then lost more down to 202 over the next few months. I've settled here for the past 4 months. I get positive reinforcement and current information from the meetings, as well as these forums. I all helps toward the goal of stabilized weight loss.
