What's New Wednesday?
Good early Maui morning to my OFF family extraordinaire!!
Annette...thanks for the launching pad, and Aime I am so delighted to hear that your little one is 8 lbs!! That's a good, healthy size and it sounds like that little munchkin is thriving. Yeah!
I have been awake since 3:00 a.m.....in bed watching recorded programs until 6:00. Sleep is tricky these days. Even with meds I don't get more than 5 or 6 hours. So, I have laundry ready to take down to the laundry room, and I play on an hour and a half out on the lanai this morning to work more on the tan. I know...tough life.......!
Last night was a support group meeting led by my "angel." She has had the lower body lift and had a tough time of it because of an old scar on her back which opened and needed emergency procedure to keep from getting infected and to get closed again. She is fine now...but it was not as easy as the original WLS was. It's good to hear the bad news as well as the good.
There were four PRE surgery people there and it was as always delightful to hear their stories, their worries, their hope, and to share our journey with them and give them encouragement and proof that weight loss WILL happen. I passed around my "before" pictures and everyone said they did not recognize the woman in the pictures. A woman in the group was 66 and worried that she was too old. I told her I am almost 65 and have had a wonderful experience with few problems. She kept saying "I'm so glad you came tonight...you have given me such a lift." That is the reason for support groups....it gives everyone a different gift. I am reminded of where I was once, and the newbies can see for themselves the changes in the two post ops who have gone through it. I feel sorry for the people who have this surgery and DO NOT have any kind of support group to turn to.
A couple of days ago Aloha Airlines went belly up (after 61 years) and my son had to scramble to get a new ticket for me to come to Calif. in May to meet/greet my newest grandbaby. I'm now scheduled to fly on United on May 8th to May 23rd. I can't wait!!
OK, my sweet friends...it's chore time. You all make my life so much richer, and I love you for it.

Hello to my OFF family. I am here fairly earlier than some times since it just about 20 to 1.
The sun is shinning and Bill said that it is kind of warm but there is a chill in the air. I haven't stuck my head out since I have been up and really don't intend to. He was out and cleaned the inside of my car. I am grateful for that. We live on a very busy intersection in town and the cars get really really dusty inside and out. He even cleaned the windows. He has this thing about cleaning windows in the car. He gets in and automatiically cleans the windshield even if it isn't dirty and that drives me nuts. Don't ask me why it bothers me so bad because I have no idea. lol
I wish that I was going to P'burgh with all of ya. A guy at church calls me skinny Brenda now so is there anyone who has a suitcase that I can fit in?
I am staying home today to wait for my urologist to call on the results of my 24 hour urine test. I am hoping that there is a medication that they can put me on to help hold off the kidney stones. The poor guy has called me 2 times and both times I was gone. I told them at the office that I was staying home to talk to him today. Otherwise I am going to have to wait until Saturday again and I am not going to do that. This doctor has such a wonderful personality and he isn't bad on the eyes either if you know what I mean girls!!! He is not only married with 3 or 4 kids he is also young enough to be my son!!!! How sad!
I better get going. Bill is getting ready to leave for work. He smells so good I just want him to stay home today but what is a woman to do? He must leave and then come home not smelling as good as he is now. I hope that you all have a great day today. I pray that God blesses each of you richly and I will meet you all here later on. I am sending love and hugs to all.
Hi Annette and everyone.....
It has been a busy work day for me. I just now got home and am finally able to get on the board.
Not much happening here. The snow storm we had on Monday is only a memory now. The snow has pretty much all melted. Please let that be the last of it! The temp right now at 4:00PM is 41 degrees and windy. It was supposed to be in the 50s today..well that sure isn't going to happen. Maybe tomorrow!!
I need to check out a few more posts and then I will get ready to meet my friends for our usual Wednesday night get together. I won some beautiful steaks at the last meat raffle and hope I do as well this time.
Hugs, connie d
