Morning friends, Yesterday was a nice day. We had a haircolor class at the salon in the morning, always a good thing for me to learn whats new out there. Then, my DS called to ask me if I'd like him to take me to lunch in exchange for a haircut. After I was done with his hair I asked if he was driving and he said he was low on gas. So, I gave him $$ to fill up, then, of course I couldn't have him buy lunch 'cause it would have been with the money I gave him for gas!  So....he got a hair cut, I'm $60 lighter LOL.  He starts a new job on the 14th which will pay more than his father is making, so next month I'll see if he'll return the favor! I'm trying very hard to fight off a cold. One week to cosmetic surgery and I sure as H**l can't get sick! The paperwork I got from the doc say no echinasia (sp), read that after taking it for three days. Some don't believe in it, but I've been taking it with the onset of a cold and I think it really does help.  Guess I will just have to ride it out. Off to get ready for work. Hope all my OFF buddies have a dandy day! Hugs to all

Susan

My dh takes echinasia and it helps him.  However I can't take it because of allergies.  I found out its common name is ragweed.

Echinasia is not ragweed, it is Coneflowers.  dont know who told you that but they need to re look it up I grow it in a huge big big bed and harvest it for this small company that makes its own natural herbs and stuff.   I have taken it daily for about 3 years now and it seems to be great for the immune system i havent had an allergy attack or cold or flu at all.  Jan

Echinasia and ragweed are members of the same family......Asteraceae.  If you are allergic to ragweed you will also react to Echinasia (SP).

Good Morning OFF Sisters & Brothers! I'm here at my daughter's computer  all tan (burnt is more like it ;)) and feeling relaxed and ready for our day.  We had a great time down in Treasure Island, St. Petersburg, though we hit traffic that was reminiscent of the Long Island Expressway or the NJ Turnpike and an hour and a half ride turned into over 3 hours and that was in the middle of the day, but oh well, no fire to put out, so we just kind of dealt with it!  Got home and helped my daughter do laundry and straighten up and just kind of hung out with the kids, the puppy and the boyfriend, who I like very much, my daughter certainly has gotten lucky, he's a good guy and the kids love him too and all 3 kids get along, meaning his son and them a very nice blended family, makes me happy to see that even my ex-SIL and all get along so well, all putting the concerns of the children together. . .  oh well, enough about that stuff. I'm taking the children and meeting up with my children's stepmom (exwife #2 of my children's father, who had a big part in their lives), we are both exes who put the needs of the children first and so we're getting together and going to someplace called Deleon Springs, as the kids don't want to go to the beach today , anyway, I haven't seen Trudy since I had my surgery, as she came up and stayed with me while I was recovering, so I'll bet she'll be carrying on the way a good southern bred woman does  when they think you've done good (lol)!  Having a great time here, but I'm also physched about Pittsburgh in 2 days and meeting all of you who will be there and yes Annette I'm an early riser, I was up until about 12 last night, almost posted the what's new thread before I went to sleep but decided not to and I was up at 6:30 this morning, talking to Tony at 6:45, he was like, what are you doing up so early, you're on vacation and I was like, what's vacation got to do with it (lol). . .  can't wait to meet you all, I'll be the suntanned lady looking all rested and "skinny" (my children's word, not mine (lol)). . . Well gals and guys, I'm going to get ready, got to drive my daughter to work so I can have a car to drive around in today, see you all later! Hugs, Laureen
