Whats New Tuesday from the Sunshine State of Florida

Well Guys and Gals, Its Tuesday officially now 1215 to be exact and I am starting the thread before I go to bed. It finally rained today and my grass is green for a change!!!!!! It said yipppppeeeeeee!!!!! My sister had a 2nd heart Cath today and everything was clear. Seems she had an angina attack this morning and called the ambulance again. She is home now and doing well. Another scare!!!!! Well talk on folks........ Tevia and I are going to bed. Carla

Hi Carla and the rest of our OFF group. I had to call in sick today because my car broke down. It's fixed already and only cost $43... so I'm feeling extremely lucky! Instead of going to work I spent the day painting. I'm thrilled with the results. The other "little" detail that made me happy is that I was able to climb on and off a chair to paint the ceiling edge. I had given up climbing on chairs a couple of years ago because I couldn't do it with my weight so high. My balance was precarious and I didn't have the "oomph" to lift up there. I also did lots of "on my knees" work which has been difficult at best for years, but not anymore! Tomorrow is my daughter Laura's 23rd birthday- she was an April Fool's baby. I'm planning a "New Life" party for her (she's lost 120 pounds since WLS in August) in 2 weeks.  Back to work in the morning so I'm off to bed. See you all soon! Julia

Good morning. I am trying hard to wake up and to feel ready to face Tuesday. I'm certain that after some more coffee I will start to rouse. My first day back to work was not too bad. The phones didn't get crazy as I expected. I was able to respond to the 100 emails that were waiting for me fairly quickly. I do have to go for 2 trainings this week. I really don't want to go. I missed one of them when I got sick so I have to make it up this week. I think I'll attend that training on Thursday. It is for a new software that the system will be using starting this summer related to all students in the school system. I suppose the more I know that the more secure my job will be. Oh well! N called me and told me she had the wrong day for LP's doctor visit. So today, I will take them. My son called me last night just after I fell asleep to inform me that LP can say "dada". I think he is hearing what he wants to hear, but that is okay. It was fun to hear the excitement in his voice about it anyway. I did have to remind him that I was already in bed and asleep.  I hope everyone has a great day. Enjoy Spring. I just love all the new life that appears each day.  Oh-- Happy April Fool's Day!!!!

Good morning Carla and friends, Green grass would be a pleasant change from the mud and SNOW we have up here. The robins and red-winged black birds have returned so Spring will arrive eventually. April first marks the day Tom begins wearing shorts and shaves his head in preparation for Summer. He has a thick, full head of hair which he lets grow each Winter. Last night I had the fun task of plugging in the electric clippers and removing his mane. That must feel similar to shearing sheep. I am so easily amused, but it was fun. It's like getting a different hubby in the Spring.   After a fitful nights sleep I am going back to bed. My eyes won't stay focused. Catch you later. Kisses Annette

"Shearing sheep"   George is basically bald and has a full beard.  I get to shear my sheep and trim his neck.  However, I never get to trim his beard.

Rain?  You want rain we here in the Natural State will be happy to send some to anyone who wants it!  More storms yesterday, more coming in the next three days. Not so much here in our area, but some parts of the state are just barely drying out from last week, and now they're hit again. Nothing to do but ride it out. I did go shopping yesterday and finally found some dress slacks at Kohl's.  They only had one pair, so I'm going online to get two more.  Never hurts to have nice black dress pants. Yesterday I went to Gary's office to see a Drug Court Graduation. Very interesting stuff. He is in charge of 30 people who are drug offenders, mostly possession charges. They are in this program for 18 months, random drug testing, counseling, group meetings and rehab. If they successfully complete the program their convictions are overturned and they have a clean record. It was very touching to hear the graduates stories, how they have their lives back and are living worthwhile lives. Glad I went to see what it is he does. Guess it outweighs the poor paychecks he gets from the State. Back to work today, and nothing much else going on here. So, hope everyone has a great day, see you all tomorrow. Hugs

morning! it's cloudy and the sun doesn't appear to up yet here- we finally got rain during the ite- my ankle is throbbing so i know that it isn't over! i am on my way to get dressed-need to hot roller my hair - what does one wear on a job interview at Loews?????? that's my 9 am appt then not sure what the day will hold...... we hit a rummage sale yestertday-bought a chair for the living room- like we needed it! it's attractive . price was right! i have spent the last two days just "hungry"-not head hunger--just not satiated...when i eat a meal i get full so i know the pouch is there- and i am drinking my fluids--but i am just "hungry"....i don't care for this feeling....

MORNING TO EVERYONE!!!! WELL YESTERDAY I HAD A HECK OF A TIME TRYING TO GET HERE!!!  GOT ME MAD SO I STOPPED TRYING....LOL

WELL THE WEEKEND WENT VERY GOOD...WE WENT SITE SEEING WITH RICKS MOM AND SHE FELL IN LOVE WITH FRANKENMUTH!!! ESPECIALLY BRONNERS CHRISTMAS STORE!!!! TOOK HER BACK BY THERE AFTER DARK TO SEE IT ALL LIT UP AND SHE WAS IN AWE OVER IT!!!! TOLD HER SHE SHOULD SEE THE TOWN AT CHRISTMAS TIME BECAUSE ITS ALL DECORATED UP!!!! SHE SAID SHE WILL SAVE MONEY FOR THE CHRISTMAS TRIP BACK!!!! LOL THEN WE WENT TO PHYLLIS'S FOR DINNER AND HAD A GOOD TIME WITH HER AND HER HUBBY..... TRIED TO FIND WORK FOR RICK HERE BUT SO FAR NO LUCK....HE DID GET HIS APP IN A FEW PLACES THO SO WAITING TO HEAR ON THEM.

WEIGHED MYSELF YESTERDAY AND I AM DOWN ANOTHER POUND!!! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! I THINK THAT 5DPT WORKED FOR ME!!!!! WEIGHT IS MOVING OUT AGAIN!!!! YEAH BABY!!!! OFCOUSE I AM NOT TELLING MOM ABOUT IT NOR MY SISTER!!! AFTER ALL I AM GAUNT LOOKING TO THEM....GRRRRR

SPEAKING OF MOM....SHE FELL THURSDAY NIGHT AND DIDN'T LET ME KNOW TIL FRIDAY MORNING....SHE HAS 2 BLACK EYES AND A SKINNED UP NOSE....ALSO HER RIGHT HAND WAS SWOLLEN....I STOPPED OVER TO SEE HER AFTER WORK FRIDAY....OMG!!!!!!!! I TOOK HER RIGHT TO THE ER AND THEY DID A CT SCAN ON HER HEAD AND NECK ALSO XRAY ON HER HAND...HEAD AND NECK ARE OK...BUT SHE HAS 2 BROKEN PLACES IN HER THUMB!!!! SHE SAW THE DR YESTERDAY ON THAT AND HAVEN'T HEARD YET WHAT IS GOING ON SO HAVE TO CALL HER THIS MORNING AND FIND OUT. SIGHS......NEVER A DULL MOMENT HERE IS THERE??? GEZZZZZ

WELL I BEST GET MY BUTT OFF THIS COMPUTER AND GET BILLS MADE OUT AND PAID....THEN OVER TO MOMS TO DO HERS FOR HER....ITS SUPER WINDY HERE TODAY...GUSTING TO ALMOST 50 MPH!!!!!!! GOOD THING IS ALL THE SNOW IS NOW GONE OUT OF MY YARD!!!!! GRASS IS STARTING TO GET GREEN IN SOME AREAS!!!! OH YEAH!!!!!!! WELCOME SPRING!!!!!!!!

Hi Carla and all, Had a heck of a time trying to post yesterday morning so just gave up, saw others had that trouble too. Work is so busy,,,state survey is in the house this week, so a little nerve racking. We always do well, knock on wood. I had a hard time getting my lunch in yesterday. The good part is that the days go by soooo fast... I am still overwhelmed with all that has to get done. I have to do care plans on people and the computer program we use is like a foreign language. I am pretty good on the computer usually but this program is like and old DOS program. There is no rhyme or reason as to when or why you have to click on control or arrow or shift arrow or what ever. It all just has to be memorized. This old dog don't do new tricks too easy, let me tell ya. It snowed here again, yesterday! I am so ready for Spring. I made ham and bean soup, meatballs and cooked meat all ready to mix with cabbage this weekend. Now, I just have to get some Beano to take before I take the ham and beans to work so I don't embarrass myself, if ya know what I mean. Well, take care all... Cheryl

Thanks again and again for the prayers that I requested!  My FIL didn't get into surgery until 5PM yesterday and the surgeons could only do the carotid artery.  It was pretty bad.  I didn't get word until after 10 last nite.  He is in critical care and will have part 2 of the heart surgery on Friday.  Please keep up any prayers that you have time for.  I hate asking for things, but just stick him in there when you pray.  Thanks!  The doctors have no idea when they can remove the tumor in the esophagus/stomach.  One step at a time.  MIL is still in also.  The hospital said we need to start thinking about a rehab/nursing facility within the week!                                                 YIKES...I need a Calgon moment.  Think I will just look forward to the PITTSBURGH PALOOZA instead! 3 1/2 days and counting!!!!  Woot Woot!                                              

I wish you all a great day...a bit rainy and overcast here, but should reach the high 50's!! Gotta run, errrrrrr  I mean walk!  Time to get on the sneaks and get my b**t to the track.  (Must be working--got a few new tops last nite....size MEDIUM!!---Did you hear me....MEDIUM!!!!)
