CAN YOU STRETCH YOUR POUCH AND OTHER INFO
Aloha Linda....Wow...this is an amazing read!! I have copied and saved it for my WLS files.
Interestingly, just the other night at a party I was talking with a woman whose daughter had the surgery (started about 450), lost about 200 lbs. and then GAINED IT ALL BACK!!! I told her how surprised I was by that news, and she said that her daughter never followed the rules...and has been "grazing" all day on bad foods. She never had any support group help, or connections like the OFF board. It was good for me to see what happens when you don't listen to what you are told by your surgeon, nutritionist, others who have gone ahead of you, etc. The really sad part of that story is that her parents PAID $30,000 for her surgery!! The psychologist in me thinks there is an element of "up yours" in this relationship...know what I mean? The mother was president of Weigh****chers for years!!!
Your post confirms everything she and I talked about. Thanks for the wonderful information!

Oh my Karen, what a sad, sad story, and a reminder for us all, this is a life changing surgery, we don't get to "go back" to where we were.
People bring me food now. I won a complete chinese meal today AND someone else gave me a fresh apple fritter, plus a half of another meal given to me by a "friend".
It is ALL packed up to take home to the grands.
I am not touching it, not entertaining the thought. Maybe this girl had too much handed to her and she is throwing away a precious gift. I have been watching "In Treatment" on HBO, and I must agree with your school of thought. Too bad she does not know how she is destroying herself.
I hope she finds enlightment and comes to some self realizations.
Take care and thank you, this gives me food for thought.
I have learned just to say "thanks" when people give me food instead of explaining myself all the time, they know what surgery I had, and have seen me much heavier ..so I just smile and say thank you.
When I think of how much I used to eat everyday, it astounds me, I know it would make me sick now, it even makes me sick to see others eat like that.
I smile and say, "Look what God has wrought."
Take care, sweet lady of the beaches...smile.
