I wanted to pass this along to my new friends here...
I have been making hard boiled eggs by steaming them for a long time, and (basically) have it down to a science.... I even experimented! (it's a guy thing... I was hoping for an explosion )
I steam a dozen eggs at a time in my rice steamer... 20 minutes... and they come out great every time...
.... and here's the REAL bonus...
.... they peel SO easy! ... I mean, the shell practically falls off... Sure makes it nice NOT to have to fight with the little buggers!

Ahhh, I'm glad I kept my rice steamer. Sounds like a great use for it! Lord knows it hasn't seen rice for years since I'm been on one low-carb diet after another.

Great idea. I'm no Martha Stewart. When I hard boil eggs, I usually have those little, itsy, bitsy pieces of shell to pick off.
I'll give it a try.
