I'm so sorry to hear about Nic too. Sometimes the pain seems to hard to bear- but the sun will always shine again. I am so glad that I was able to go to my cousin Elizabeth's funeral yesterday. At the very end one of the sisters asked me to sing the song that I used to sing to them as I tucked them in bed. "Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high- there's a land that I've heard of once on a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue- and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true."  I got through it without crying, and it was totally the right touch at the right time. It's always good to be with people you love when sadness overtakes you.

Julia.....Thank you for thinking of Nic. The pain will lessen at some point and we will be able to go on. I am sorry for the death of your cousin. What a wonderful tribute that song was to her....I cried when I read the post. I did write on here long ago and thanked you for sending me that card. It came at just the right time. I had just gotten home from spending some time with Nic. Thank you so much. Hugs, connie d

Hi Annette and everyone: Not much going on here. It's payday, so I dragged myself out of bed reluctantly at 11 and went to the bank, Walgreens, the grocery and PetsMart. Not buying much, just some supplies before I go on vacation. Two more working days and I'm outta here. Saturday I head to Chicago for Easter with my family, then I stay with mom until Thursday, then we fly out to Houston on Thursday.  Sorry about all the pain going on. Connie, sorry to hear about Nic's cancer spreading. So sad. My thoughts are with you.  Well, nothing else much to say. I guess I should get to work.

I know! I am late again. I was always late for everything and I am sure that I will be late for my own funeral too! Clocks and I just don't get along at all.  Alarm ClockMy mom always told me that I was suppose to be born at the beginning of May and here I wait until almost the end of it. I have been like this for almost 54 years and I don't see it ending any time soon.  It is beautiful out today. The sun is shining so bright and I see the birds flying all around. I can tell (or maybe it is wishful thinking on my part) that spring is here. Of course they are calling for snow tonight so it must be wishful thinking!!!! I worked at the office today and I am so glad that it is closed tomorrow for Good Friday. I got the bulletins done for both services on Sunday and I was soooo close to kicking the copier. It would make a few copies then it would say there was a paper jam. There was no paper jammed anywhere. I would close it and then it would just do the same thing. It finally ran good when I stood there in front of it. It must be either a kid or a man. That is all I have to say about the blasted thing. Then on top of that a bunch of them wrinkled and I told Pastor that of all days for that to happen it was for the 10:15 Easter service. He told me that it sounds like a call to the company is in order. I agree with him there.  I have Maundy Thurdsay service at church tonight. I am always so touched by that service. It is really heart wrenching and I usually cry with this one. We strip the alter one thing at a time and then someone is up in the balcony doing a pounding sound with the removal of each thing. It is really thought provoking.  I have a bit of a headache right now. I think I am working on a sinus infection. I have to go see my PCP on Monday afternoon and so I am going to look into that. Let her earn her money the insurance company pays her. That would be a first for her as far as I am concerned. I can't stand that woman.  I am having leftover meat loaf for dinner tonight. I am not sure what else but at the least the main thing is already done. I am to the point that I hate to cook anymore. I use to love to and I would make up a lot of recipes too but not anymore. I can find just about anything else to do.  I had a new outfit in the closet and I thought that I would wear it for Easter but I tried it on and it is to big. The jacket just hangs and I look like a idiot in it. The blouse is to big too, and the skirt looks alright but I don't think that I should go to church in just the skirt. People might not understand that one. I was thinking of going and getting something else but then I thought that it would be a waste of money and so I am making due with what I have. So what it isn't new. Next year I will get something new for Easter. This is my transition Easter I guess I could call it.  I better get going. Got some things to do while I still have time. I am going to have to leave in just over an hour and a half. Hope that everyone enjoys what is left of their day. I will check in later on.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
