Thanks Jan! My friend has more than enough comorbids but he said he was told he was too old to have this surgery. He needs to go elsewhere. He's severely diabetic, more than 100 lbs. overweight and now they have him on oxygen part time. His doctor told him he needs to take weight off.

I'm 64, going to be 65 in September. I am scheduled for lapband surgery at Stanford Hospital in June, and have 3 or 4 of the illnesses the doctors were looking for and they had no problem with my age.

Judy, I am 64 and my doctors have told me that as long as I am healthy enough to withstand surgery, they have no problem with me having it. I have read posts from a couple of people who were 66 and 67 when they had surgery and are doing fine.
