My Ears Were Burning!
Howdy Yaw'll! I felt my ears burning and something led me here. There was my friend and co-conspirator Janet bringing up my name!! I have to tell all of you if "Menapause the Musical" comes anywhere near you, It's MUST SEE!! Hilarious!! My fella took me to see it in Dallas Saturday, and he's been fretting for two weeks imagining he would be the only man there. He wasn't, but I'd say the ratio of women to men was 20 to 1. They have taken songs from the 60's and changed the words to fit the subject. "We're Havin' a Heat Wave" becomes "I'm Havin' a Heat Flash." I'm not even gonna touch the subject of "Good Vibrations!" Also, I have never seen an audience in the theater having so much fun or laughing so hard. Life is good. I am usually on a plane every month or six weeks visiting one of my kids and the grandkids---one is in Maryland and the other in Georgia. I am getting very familiar with the airports. Just so I put in a plug for WLS let me just say that I can't imagine doing that at 350 pounds. My son and his wife had WLS..he in November, she in September. She has lost 91 pounds and he has lost 73 pounds. They look great! I could be doing better with following the WLS lifestyle. I have done the 5DPT. I noticed some of you are doing it. It was very helpful, and I need to do it again. I would say it would not be a bad idea to do that about once a month. The further I get out from my surgery, the more I feel like a normal person. That 's good and also not so good, but life goes on. Mine was a bit tumultuous in the first couple of years postop. I think some of you may have experienced some big changes also. You just change in your outlook on life and many of us become quite different--no longer willing to be a "second class" citizen and finally having the expectation that we deserve alot better than we have been willing to settle for. My new son-in-law, who knew me ten years ago, told my daughter that I seemed like a different person and he could tell I was happy. I think of all of you often, and I am so grateful for your friendship and understanding in these four years of my journey. Hey, Janet, could we book a double room to get our bodies remade? Maybe when we retire. LOL Would a plastic surgeon understand why two women in their mid-60's would care about a flat belly? I love it when the celebrity magazines talk about some actress with her "baby bump." Pleeaase......would someone come up with a cute name for my lower body. TMI, Dorothy! OFF still rocks! Dorothy E.
