The 5 Day Pouch Test ... uhh.. thingie
OK girls.... I made it through just fine... here's some thoughts while I can still remember them
Observations and general ramblings -
First off let me say that it works... does just what Kay says it will; i.e. I got in touch with my pouch... but not until the last 2 days... I was VERY aware of my eating... and could feel the pouch get full and I stopped eating.
The "not drinking" part was tough... everything I have read said to stop drinking and eat, then NO drinking during and 30 minutes after... but the pouch test requires NO drinking 30 minutes prior... I am going back to just NO drinking during and 30 minutes after now... that is fairly easy to do, but not drinking before is a real pain in the patootie...
The energy level went up so much I was amazed... I was running around and cleaning and making pens and organizing closets ... the energy boost is sure a nice bonus to this!
(skip this part... gotta be gross a little)
Bathroom stuff - I have had nearly a constant condition of the "big D" for a year... and all because of improper eating... eating way too much, wrong foods, etc... 6 or more visits a day, all uncomfortable... well, you know what I mean.....
.... and that all went away! ... I feel so normal now!.... can't tell you how nice this is to NOT have that awful feeling of "gonna crap my pants!" all the time! .... sorry, TMI I know... but I want to record all the things that were changed or affected. Just eating protein is a great thing! ... mentally I am going to blame carbs for this, and that will help me stay away from them....
I am going to try and record what I eat... never did it at all before... and still haven't. I guess a notebook or something and then one of those online resources too...
Overall I really feel like an old car that went to the shop and am now all fixed up and ready to go! I still have a lot of work to do to totally change my eating (lifestyle) habits and I need to try and increase my exercise even more...
I will do this again.... it was not all that tough at all, and really works well for getting you back on the right path - at least it did for me... I would think that it would be a LOT easier for those of you who actually followed the rules once before!
There's a thread right now on the Main Board about the 5dpt... apparently not too many are fond of it...

I would like to try it just to get in touch with my pouch. I am kind of afraid though because I am so close to goal weight. What do you think??? Would this not be a good thing for me?? Just interested in your opinion....I know you aren't a doctor. I will probably have to run it by my Nutritionist anyway.
Have a good day....hugs, connie d
