Good morning Margo and Friends! All I can say is getting old sucks!  When I got up from watching the news yesterday evening, the side of my foot hurt.  I didn't twist it or hit it on anything.  It's the inside near the instep and it hurts so bad that it has taken my mind off the pain in my thumb.  Like they say, be careful what you pray for!  Speaking of thumb, surgery is tentatively scheduled for April 2.  Final plans to be made Thursday when I see the orthoped.  Minor outpatient surgery with local anesthesia.   I can't wait to hear all about our OFF twins, wish Karen could/would check in. Back to work - just got a couple of cases delivered. Debbie

Aloha Margo and OFF sisters and brothers.....

Gosh, there are a lot of mental health issues going on right now. I so hope those of you who are dealing with people afflicted find the right solutions....it can be so frustrating. Annette...your friend sounds bipolar just from your brief description. Does she get depressed as well as hyper? There are good meds for that, but also therapy is really helpful.

Margo...I know your Michael has problems, and you get caught up in that. I feel for you, sweetie. Hopefully you have somewhere you can go for your own mental health!!

Boo...you are an angel to take care of your brother. Many a soul could not deal with mental health issues on a daily basis in their own homes.

Life on Maui at the moment is grand......and yesterday it rained....blessed rain!! I had been out shopping and when I returned I plopped out on the lanai with ice water, book, phone and then it started pouring down rain! I LOVED IT! It was warm and moist and that is so good for the skin. I sat out there for about an hour and watched the rain making the gardens lush and deeply green again. Later, we had thunder rollers that scared the **** out of my kitties....but I loved that, too. Mother Nature doing her fancy dance for us.

My shopping yesterday included dropped off yet another BIG bag of clothes at Savers. I came away with two Speedo swimsuits, size 12 that fit perfectly, but I could use some silicone "stuffers" where the girls go...pretty flat!! Sigh. Also bought some rust colored long pants, size 10 and a beautiful flowered blouse with rust, cream, mustard colors.....that whole outfit cost me $10..........$3.99 pants, $5.99 blouse!! Such a deal. The two Speedo swimsuits were $5.00 each!!

Janet....I hear you about gasoline. I'm so thankful I sold my van and bought my little Chevy Aveo which gets about 30 miles to the gallon. But, still....we are now at $4.00 a gallon for regular! Still costs $35.00 to fill 'er up! That is one of the reasons I'm taking on part time jobs......to keep up with this damned economy!!

Today is just dawning and I have a "to do" list that is long.......we'll see how much gets done and how much gets "reassigned" to another day! Ha!

Hope you all have a wonderful day......and come and share tomorrow.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Karen, Your description of the rain sounds heavenly. Not so the thunder, I agree with your furbabies. Yes, my friend was newly diagnosed as bipolar. As an onlooker it is exhausting, I can't imagine living inside her head.  Whatever is left over on your to do list is a head start for tomorrow's to do list. You are planning ahead. Kisses Annette

Hi Margo and everyone: I've got my coffee ... you know me, I start late. Second cup for me. I got up at 8 with another headache; this rainy weather has got me hurting. It's nasty -- drippy, foggy. Anyway, got up, had a headache, took some drugs, went back to bed with the cats, slept until nearly 11. Had my AchievOne, then had to do some cleaning before cleaning lady comes by tonight (have to hide things before she hides them on me). Took a shower, stuck my head under there hoping to clear out my sinuses. The mold must be bothering me because my allergies are horrible. Had lunch, got dressed and went to my dentist appointment. That put me at work a lot earlier than usual because the dentist is close to downtown. So I stopped at this candy store to get mom's Easter present (I always get her this SF candy she likes ... but no chocolate covered nuts, she says they're too hard on her teeth). Got myself some coffee and a Subway sandwich for dinner and came into the office. No reviews or late stories tonight hopefully so we should be out early; good because I'm kinda tired.  I hear ya, Janet, on the gas prices ... check out the food prices too. They're going up, up, up too.I was going to send Karen S. a story I saw on the wire about Maui gas prices, but I figured she already knew they were $4 a gallon. Not much else going on here. I have a nice new filling in my tooth; they keep wanting to put a crown there but I haven't paid them off for the bridge yet a couple of years ago, so I won't get a crown until I pay off the bridge.  12 more days to the cruise and four more days til I'm on vacation.

Eileen, My daughter was suffering from allergies, sinus headaches, pollen, the works. Oprah did a program about the Neti Pot which she found to be intregueing.  (how do you spell that word?) She ordered and used The Neti Pot and swears by the results. I found this link for you.  http://www.neti-pot.com/  Interesting reading if nothing else.  Headaches, allergies and sinus problems wear you out. Feel better soon. You need to be top notch for your trip. Kisses Annette

I had heard of it, from several people. Actually, I don't sneeze as much as I used to; now I have this annoying drip into my throat that causes me to hack (and sometimes causes asthma-like symptoms), the sinus headaches and the itchy eyes. I'm on two allergy pills and a nasal spray, plus inhaled steroids at this time of year. As the snow melts and uncovers the molds, it gets worse. Then the trees bud. If things really get bad, I'll get my prescription for the prednisone filled. At least this allergy doc gave me a plan. I think once I get on the boat I'll be good ... could I be allergic to work? Ada to Zeeland (that's this big briefs package I have to edit everyday)? The Business page? I think I am tired of reading about the recession. Isn't everyone?

Are you ready for this Annette? I saw that about the Netti Pot too. I took a small watering can( small household size , not the  the big garden size) with a long spout, you can get them at the dollar store for, you guessed it, about a dollar.  I put about a cup of warm sal****er in it and do the sinus wa**** is amazingly fast  and easy ( just for gosh sakes don't breath through your nose) I have suffered from sinus headaches for years. Since then, not a ONE. The first couple of weeks I did it twice a week, Haven't done it in a long time. I should start again with spring and allergens around the corner..I am sold on the procedure..Blessings

Well, crappy darn double damn. My ho****er heater went out!!!  Can you believe???  I just paid off a ton of bills... and was hoping to go to the 'burgh'.... but looks like a hot bath at some point for the rest of my life will take first place. Here I was, home early from work, cooking for tomorrow's luncheon... now I'm changing clothes and unloading the pantry!! Crappy, darn, double damn. Janet
