Wow! A Big Pick-Me-Up!

When my children were young and I was a single mother and had the accident and we weren't sure if the drunk driver had insurance and I was lying in the hospital bed wishing I could feel something...well quickly we went through all my savings and all my vacation time and sick time and so we applied for social security and it took six months for it to be approved and in that six months, there were days and then one day there was a knock on the door and it took me about four or so minutes to wheel myself to the door and I opened the door and no one was there, but a sack or two of groceries and inside one of the bags was an evelope and in the envelope was 1500 dollars and over the next couple of months four more of those gifts were delivered in the same fashon.  I never learned who was giving me such a gift and it was definitely used, so I understand how great your gift is.

Wow, your story is tremendous. When I lived in Montana, every Christmas I would take photos of the kids in Head Start. I'd sell these photos to parents who wanted them and make some money off them. But I'd also ask the director if there was one kid *****ally needed something. I didn't make a lot of money back then, but Anaconda, Mont., was a dirt-poor town and there was a lot of people who were in more need than I was. At least I had a job. I always have tried to give back in some small way. Anyway, I would take the name of this one child, buy that kid a warm coat, gloves, hat or something and then some toy, and just leave the name "Santa" on the packages. I loved buying the gifts ... I always enjoy buying things ... it's part of my addiction, even if it's not for myself!  So I'll bet whoever bought for you, left you those gifts, had just as much fun. Giving is a natural high, too. You feel so good after you give. You don't need to see the reaction. You just know the feeling. I'm glad someone was able to help you out. I didn't realize all you had gone through.

Eileen, this brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful friend you must be to have someone hold you in such high regard. Funny how life has a way of making you smile no matter how bad things might seem. Take care, and God bless your friends

Eileen, I would say you had to have been a very special friend to Bruce and Rita for them to respond to your need in this way.  As others have said in so many different ways, "What goes around, comes around."  You have and continue to be there for them in ways money can't buy, so now they are there for you when only money will help.  As Linda said and I agree, it is "kewl," isn't it.  Don't you just love the way God works in our lives?

You can tell them there are some special prayers going up for them. Anyone who could be so good to our Eileen right when you need it is a true blessing.

My eldest son is without a doubt the most giving person I have ever known.  He never passes a homeless person without giving a few bucks and often returns with a warm meal to boot, Toys for Tots can count on him for 3 bicycles a year plus some dolls and trucks, ASPCA always gets a generous check, he gives to his church and the relief fund on base.  His income is limited, but he always has enough and more.  He has learned the lesson what you put into the world comes back threefold.  He never expects a thank you, just pass the kindness along.  I'm so proud of him.
