What defines chilly? It is (-9) here with a (-23) wind chill. Last night it was colder, obviously. We got 10" of snow so far this week, and yesterday was, more or less, a blizzard.

Cottage Grove is one of the cities we are considering. But we are more or less sold on McMinnville if we can find jobs.

We used to be very active on this board.  Lots of us in the valley, from Portland to Roseburg had surgery back in 2006 and 2007.  Since about 2008, things have really dropped off here.  We used to even get together for little gatherings.  I miss those days.

Good for you!  Do you know which surgery you are going to have?  I had an RNY at OHSU in July of 2007.

I'm in Eugene and my brother lives in Cottage Grove.  Not a lot of jobs around here, and it will get chilly in the winter, but you won't see too much snow.  An occasional dusting is about it.  We do get fog -- occasionally frozen fog -- but you shouldn't even need to own a snow shovel.  Cottage Grove is a very picturesque little town.  They decorate over the holidays in a big way and they've got some nice golf courses.  Slightly rural, but close enough to Eugene for more shopping options.  Cottage Grove has a very nice live theatre, a movie theatre, some good restaurants.  Nice community.

Topic: Begining the Surgery Process

In September of 2010 I put my cigarettes down and began the process of getting my employer to add gastric Bypass surgery to our insurance policy. I dont know how I did it but four months later on January 1st 2011 they added the surgery as a covered expence.

This last week I meet the doctor and had my first four appointments at Leagacy Good Samaritain Hospital in Portland. Due to my insurance requirements I have to go again in April and July and than surgery in July!!!

I am excited and nervouse at the same time......

Hello
I live in Hillsboro, OR. I go to the coast to get away from the city. I have not had the surgery yet but when I do I will be getting banded because my insurance will only pay for Lap Band or Bypass and my endocrinologist has suggested Lap Band to my surgeon. It is nice to see there are people here active in the Oregon forum.  Hopefully we can get more people to regular here in the Oregon forum.
