Where on the Oregon Coast are you Angie?

Thank you for your response Ambelina.  I've come to terms and believe that our doctor is putting us through this class first because we are new patients for him.  We switched our insurance this year to Kaiser to go through their Gastric Bypass program.  This Thursday will be our final call.  I plan to send my doctor an e-mail to find out what he would like for us to do next.  I don't mean to come off as pushy but this isn't something that we've decided to do overnight, we've been researching this for the past several years.  Both my husand and myself have struggled with our weight our entire life.  Being skinny and looking good in clothes will be a plus but we need this for our health.  We've come to terms that we both need this tool to help us lose the weight.  Ok, I'm rambling at this point.  Thank you again for the information!

Thanks for the info on Dr. Patterson. That's who I'm planning to use when I get to Portland. Appreciate your first-hand experience.

Anyone else going to try to go to this one?  I went to the one they did in the fall and got lots of good info and encouragement in this journey.   I made some good friends and am happy this one is coming along.  I think my husband and I are both going to be at this one.

Thank you all for the advice. I didn't know my stomach couldn't break down the jell capsules. I'm opening everything up now. Thanks again.

Dr. Patterson did mine. She's a very good surgeon and I highly recommend her. Dr. Smith was her assistant at that time and so I actually had them both. Dr. Halpin also worked with them and I've heard nothing but good about her. I think with all the choices you've been given you're golden no matter which you choose.

I haven't heard of any and I've been looking. I'm in Cannon Beach and had the same surgeon you did. I actually just moved here a week before Christmas so I just came to this board to ask the same question. I know there have to be more of us here than the 2 of us. lol Will you let me know if you find a support group? I'll be sure to let you know if I find out anything.
