kfalls is a nice area..and crater lake is near by.. we actually ran a motel for a year near there and some of the people have been great. but there was a lot of mean people down there. jobs are hard to come by and the area is kinda cut off..which is fine if u dont mind it.. but for jobs and other things u need to be more self reliant down there. if he has a job where ur at now u wld be better off staying there.

Topic: How is everyone doing?
Hi

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing?  Summer time makes all of this a lot easier.  If you have already had surgery, it is easier to find the fresh veggies and fruit.  Take advantage of all of these things out there.  Walk more, park your car and walk as much as you can.  I makes trips to the store and if I don't have a lot of groceries  to get  I walk. to the store.  I do this early in the morning before it gets warm.

Make time for you.  Learn to put yourself first for a change.  We always take care of everyone else first.

I wish you luck if you are waiting to hear from an insurance company.  I gave up on them and waiting, and I was a self pay. I know that more insurance companies now are covering weight loss surgery and this is really great.  Maybe one day we will not have to beg and fight to get what we should have.

Hugs,
Suzanne

Hi,

Oh this is good news.  Don't just sit back and wait for them to call you after you give them your Policy number.  Keep after them.  The squeeky wheel gets a lot of action.  I will keep my fingers crossed for you.  I know how hard it is to sit and wait.

Hugs,
Suzanne

Thanks Suzanne!  The consumer Protection Dept. Called me on Friday and asked for my insurance policy number. So it sounds like they will at least contact them.  I don't want to get my hopes up though.

Hi Linda,

I am who I am.  I don't have enough time in my day to make judgement calls on what someone wrote. Again thank you for you comments and words.

I didn't say what you wrote was wrong.  I simply stated what it sounded like to me.  We are all here for support.  Surgery will be different for every individual, even if they have the same doctor.  It's nice that you post your experience, I post mine, someone else posts theirs.  Most don't post frequently about their doctor though - just unusual.

Hi Linda,

Thank you for you the things you had to say.  I posted what I posted because people have asked me many times over why I like the doctor I had. How do I have time to post and answer questions, So, I thought I would write and answer the questions that had been asked of my in an E-mail.  So I explained why I was posting.  I answer many peoples question on this board and NEVER mention or say ONE word about who my doctor was.  I guess you missed some of those posts.

I think if you read all of my post you would have seen the very last thing I said. Read the below statement please, it was in that very same post that you are criticizing me about.

"I want YOU to be successful with your weight loss.  I want YOU to have ALL the information from as many people on this board as it takes before you make a choice of what kind of weight loss surgery you are going to have and where you are going to have it."

I don't believe that sound anything like an INFOMERCIAL. All I can speak about it what I know, if they have asked me why I went to the doctor I did then I feel it only fair to give them MY reasons.

Thanks so much for your opinion. I thought we lived in a world where there is freedom of speech and we are allow to say what we feel and think?

I would never take it upon myself to tell someone that what they wrote wasn't the right thing to write on here.  I thought this was a place where we were here to support each other NOT criticize what they wrote.

Suzanne - I'm really happy for you -- you've had great success and you really like your surgeon.  That's wonderful.  Your posts really sound like infomercials though.  All of us who have been successful like our surgeons.  We're glad we had the surgery and lost a lot of weight.  That doesn't mean we post ads for our doctors here.

Topic: Way OT - feedback on Klamath Falls, good place to live or not so much?
My husband has his sights on KF because of the lovely outdoorsy nature things to do.  I have first hand experienced "nice place to visit, wouldnt want to live there" and was wondering if I could get some feedback.

His job here is at a major airport so that is out, since the small airport there will not be doing freight forwarding, so a job for him is an issue. I have heard the economy is kind of funky there (not that it is not EVERYWHERE, but you know what I mean).

we are not "big city, arts, fine dining multiple times a month" folks, so that's not a big deal.  I do not mind needing to drive an hour or whatever to go to the grocery store, since I only go every 2 weeks, I know KF has some big box stores.

I heard that also the city funding has taken a hit, like with the police force and other social sorts of services, do not know if that is making a difference that folks can feel?

We do not have children so the schools are not an issue.

My work is done remotely so, we do not need to worry about work for me.

So I guess, a feel for the atmosphere of the place, feedback on it, town life n whatnot!

Thanks for any help you can give, and any information you can share that I have not thought to ask!

Thank you!

Topic: RE: Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center
I had my RNY surgery almost a year ago at another facility in another state. I was looking at Legacy for post-op support and in case of problems after I moved to Portland.

I'm not sure what Legacy requires but I would definately contact them first. In my surgery state I was not required to do the 6 month diet and from initial consultation to surgery was only less than 3 month. My insurance was Blue Cross of California.
