Hi Shannon!
How are you doing with the milk diet? What else are you drinking along with the milk? I Hope it gets easier as the days pass. Are you adding any flavor to the milk or just plain milk?

Topic: RE: OHSU Bariatric Support Group Meeting
Yes, I'm sad about the group. We started out with about 20 people and it was so fun to share stories, offer suggestions to problems, etc. Attendance dwindled to about 10, then 4, then 3, then the last time I went I was the only one there. Considering I need to do updates on training which involve long conference calls, etc., it just didn't seem worth it to me anymore (I was the group leader), so I closed it down. I suppose I should have made it more exciting by inviting speakers, etc., but it seemed we were all so busy sharing, I don't know when we would have found the time. I for one know I can use all the help I can get.

Topic: Protein Shake at Costco
These are the protein shakes that I just love. The taste is great, pre-made and convenient. They have 30g of protein, 1 g sugar and 160 calories. You can purchase them at Costco.

I am hoping to bring samples to the August 18th evening OHSU support group meeting.

Congratulation on a surgery date and best of luck. My best advice is be positive and get up and starts walking right away while you are in the hospital.
I am also in Portland, what a great city for walking. If you are anywhere near the downtown area walking the bridges and water front is great exercise. I am an early morning person and I do it at 5AM. I walk from 5th and Market to the waterfront, and then I cross the Hawthorne to the steel bridge and back along the waterfront. It is a nice circle and if you park on the water front and do the bridges there are of course no cross walks and can get in a nice smooth walk.
Let us know how it goes.

Linda~ I am planning to attend that meeting also. I look forward to meeting you. I am sorry to hear about the Eugene group. I had referred my sister-in-laws mother to that group. She is just in the beginning stages and looking for more information and inspiration.
Hope to meet you next week.

Thanks for the post Chelea! I actually will be in Portland on the 18th to see my spine surgeon at OHSU, so I may hang around and attend the evening support group. We no longer have our group here in Eugene.
