I still have a long journey to go before I reach my goal , at least one more year then the fun of maintance starts
wish there where more local people active to talk to , I go to my surgeons support group monthly but always can use a push here a question aswker there , got most of this down but im still only 3 months out
I am over 5 years post op....got down to almost 115 (yikes I got scared!) but now am at a pretty healthy 135 most of the time....it is the right weight for me....don't have to exercise everyday....clothes fit, I can eat something special occasionally, but to be honest most the stuff people want to splurge on doesn't tempt me much.....still have to watch when I get stressed. Life is just regular life now....funny to look back and remember the stress of getting approved for surgery and getting a date....and then wondering if I would reach goal....yeah, the good news is life can just go on...wish all the Ducks and Beaver fans....all the best on the loser bench!!
PS. I have some friends who never changed and they gained the weight all back....one friend was the motivator for me to get WLS....and the motivator for me to keep on keeping on, because she gained her weight back...
ready for the great game tomorrow Ducks vs Ucla < hubby bought me a Lobster for halftime
time for an other great duck game , got shrimp to put on the bbq and some veggies to roast .
I dont check on here much but I am in Oregon and would love to find some WLS pals around here to hang out with!

most companies treat there workers like crap , but rooting for the ducks show community pride
my son went to the u of O for 4 years and loved it there
even though it is a state college it is still private ,not owned by the state , It would be great if some of the money going into sports would go into getting and keeping better teachers and paying a better wage , we really don't need all the new buildings they build every year , and all the new private dorms are a joke , the private owners should be paying the university a royalty that should go into academics , if they payed the teachers better they wouldd get better teachers and get more of the better students
most workers are under payed in Oregon , it has one of the highest minimum wages but most jobs pay around the minimum
Wow MickeyMantle! You've made great progress! I'm not a duck fan. I worked at the UO for 32 years and watched all the money get poured into athletics while the employees (and, therefore, the students) suffered. Sounds like shrimp is a great choice for your gametime snacks.
S.Rose - if you have reactive hypoglycemia, I'd say you're not making wise choices eating bites of elephant ears, etc. Carbs, especially refined and sugary carbs will eventually cause you terrible problems.
