New to the board with a Kaiser question

This is the first time I have ever posted on the message board. I have been reading for about a year but never posted. I have a question about the process for Kaiser. My Doctor finally sent off my referral to the bariatric department on Friday and I have already started my 12 week weight managment program. I have heard it takes about a year from the time you start the program with Kaiser before you actually get to have the surgery(if you qualify). I was just wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on what to expect. I want this surgery so bad. I would do it tomorrow if I could. As would most people who are thinking of the surgery. Hi Sarah, Welcome to the group! I had my surgery done by Kaiser, but in California. I'm not sure if the requirements are different here. Do you belong to a Kaiser support group? I attend a great one at Sunnyside Kaiser in Clackamus that includes pre-ops and post-ops. My process took about 7 months. It may seem like a long time, but there is so much to prepare for, both physically and emotionally. Please, post here more often and ask any questions you want answered.
