Hello, I am new this site...

Hello, I am new this site. I have been reading messages everyday for a couple of months now. I am hoping to have WLS soon.I have done and gone through all the stages before surgery,now it is just waiting to hear from the insurance. I was going to have the lap band,but insurance declined the request,saying the procedure is still investigational. They will cover the by-pass though. Next week I will go back to Dr.Patterson for another consultation on the gastric bypass, then according to insurance the request will be authorized in 24 hours after receiving the paper work. I have been heavy since I had my first son 29 years ago. I was always petite. I am so glad this site exists.

hi i am going to be going through Dr. Patterson for my WLS. My Ins. is Regence BlueCross Blue Shield and I have to go through a 6 m.o. program per Ins. What I would like to know is if you can give me any information, on Dr. Patterson the staff etc. Thank you

Hi Connie, You will feel real comfortable with all of Dr. Patterson's staff.I have seen Kelly Laschkewitsch,she is a dietician.Tony Wolff, who is a Physical Therapist.The psychologist, Dr. Ude. Everyone in both offices are great.Cammie,the gal that takes care of the insurance approval is just wonderful. Dr. Patterson is easy to talk too,she answers any questions you have. Suzanne

I too would welcome you to this site. I am also new and have been lurking for a few months. I like this site because it is small but it could have a little more activity. I am going to Klamath Falls to Dr. Mirande for surgery. That is my plan anyway, once I have been approved by my insurance, which hopefully will be next week. I like Dr. Mirande, his insurance staff are great to work with and he seems to have a very good after surgery follow-up. Julia
