Hi all,
I am driving 5 hours next weekend to meet the man whi I am hoping will change my life. I am going to a 2 hour seminar. I guess afterwards he and I will talk a bit so that my trip is not just for the seminar. I am hoping that I can get surgery done ASAP. I need it done ASAP. I have never in my life had to put chains on my car and at the weight I am I can not imagine tryiingt to do it in the cold wet and snow. I am hoping that it will not be snow.
anyhow, I would love to meet anyone up that way when I am there ... especially anyone who has been through the WLS and can be supportive... I am gunna be up there byu myself!
OMG! can one be excited and scared at the same time!
I really hope this doc can save my life and that I come throught he surgery aok. that is my greatest fear.. that I will die on the table or soon after and it will have been all for not. ok there I have said it. My greatest fear to having surgery. that and the desparation of never being able to eat thai, indian and cantonese food again and never being able to have a bottle of sugar free sparkiling water again or diet coke! lol silly huh. What Am I saying that I would trade my life for a diet coke? lol!
Just goes to show how crazy one can get over food... Ill miss dim sum on sundays at yi fangs
Just wanted to say hello. I live in Grants Pass, I had my surgery in Medford in December of 2004. My husband has a business in Arcata and commutes back and forth, of course, Grants Pass is two hours closer than Klamath Falls! I saw you're in Arcata and had to respond. I think I felt the same way about food as you seem to. That was a very difficult part of having surgery, the hardest, but it is also very rewarding! I am so happy I did it, with all its ups and downs. And now I know that there is no food that can take the place of how I feel right now, I just never knew that before. Good luck on your trip, and if you have any questions, or need any help or info, just let me know!
Kelley, I'm sure you are gone now, I think the seminar is tonight. but I just wanted to tell you how wonderful Dr Mirandi is. You will love him....he is the ultimate best. I live in Salem Or which is 5 hours away from Klamath Falls, but my mom lives in Klamath Falls. She got very very sick, some terrible virus of the stomach or a leak from the intestines or something. (it was not WLS), but it WAS Dr. Raul Marandi who saved her life. I am planning WLS myself, and if it wasn't so far, i'd go to Klamath Falls and have Dr. Mirandi do mine. (That is of course what my Mom would prefer) He is by far one of the very best. I'm going to have my done here at the Legacy Obesity Clinic in Portland. My insurance is requiring 6 months of Nutritional Counseling, so I'll be out to July or August before I can go for surgery. My first Nutrional Counseling class is on Feb. 28. Good luck to you......and have faith and be comforted that you will have one of the greatest Dr.'s around. Let us know what you think after your seminar...
