Support Groups in Astoria / Long Beach, WA area (and other q's)

Hi all, I am beginning the process of preparing for weightloss surgery. I will be going out of state for the surgery, so I won't have access to that hospital's support group, however, I don't want to go through this without a support group. I understand that having a support group REALLY helps, and I want to set myself up for success. I live in Long Beach, WA, which is right across the river from Astoria, Warrenton, Seaside, etc... Long Beach is quite small, so I'm hoping I might have more luck on the Oregon side. I can drive down to Portland if necessary, but I'm HOPING that someone on here might know of a support group in my local area? If you don't know of one, how does one go about finding one? Should I try calling all the local hospitals, therapy centers, etc? And, if people don't have a local weightloss surgery support group, has anyone had success working with a weightloss support group, like Weigh****chers? I'd appreciate any suggestions! Thanks!!!

There is a support group that meets in Longview, WA at the Kaiser building. It is open to non-Kaiser members (free), We have almost as many non-Kaiser people as we do members. We meet the third Tues. of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 conference room 6. I live in Long Beach.
