Come out, come out, wherever you are!
Happy New Year!
What's on tap for this weekend you guys?
I'm taking my husband on a little trip. He has been working a lot lately so I am going to take him to visit my family. Now, doesn't THAT sound relaxing? Actually, they are a great bunch.
We are heading north. We will stay with Afghani friends in Bellingham tonight and then head out to British Columbia for a luncheon with the elderly aunties tomorrow. Saturday, we are rounding up a bunch of cousins and going across to Vancouver Island to spend New Years at the family compound. If everyone shows up, it will be a crowd. Most of us are around the same age and empty nesters. Scrabble, trivial pursuit and poker (we cheat!)
We will drop off the cousins who travel in our van at the ferry dock and then head to the west coast of Vancouver Island to visit some former neighbors (who are like family) then head home via Anacortes. Whew.
Not done!
Our kids are moving to Seattle this weekend so we will stop and see the new place on the way back, hit the PX at Ft. Lewis for staples and then boogie on home.
Hope your weekend is great.
Have fun out there.
tee
Tee, I'm tired just hearing all that you are doing! Sounds like a lot of fun though! We had our grandsons overnight last night. They live just 5 minutes from our house, but my DH and I were really tired after they left. Took a nice long nap. We were supposed to have family over tonight to watch the U of O football game, but our sons have colds and don't want me to catch it. I got tired of watching the game in the 3rd quarter and decided to spend my time hanging out here. If all goes well....literally....with our sons, we hope to spend some time with them this weekend. We're supposed to meet up with some former neighbors for dinner on Friday and then have some other friends over for New Years Eve if their daughter and son-in-law leave in time. Otherwise, it will just be my DH and me. On New Years Day, my DH bought us tickets to go see "Mamma Mia". I'm really looking forward to the musical.
That's it. I really hope to get together with you for coffee one of these days, Tee. I hope to see you fellow Portlanders in the New Year. So far, trying to plan something just hasn't worked out, but I'm not giving up! Have a safe New Years, everyone. I hope and pray that 2006 will be a great year for all of us.
