OHSU??

Hi, I am going to have surgury at OHSU and am wondering if anyone out there has any advice or info to share about their program. I am attending a orientation on the 14th. I am approved thru Medicaid of Washington to move forward with the 6mo. supervised diet and see a psychologist.

Hi there, I'm not going to OHSU but I do know the two doctors that do the surgery since they also work at the VA hospital where I work. I know there program is very well liked and if you browse through profiles I'm sure you will find lots of people that have gone there and are very happy.

i went through good sam rather than ohsu because the program at ohsu didnt seem as complete. i have seen quite a few people come out of surgery without the information they needed to be sucessful. just make sure to ask a lot of questions and get a firm plan before having surgery. you dont want to be left to figure it out on your own, they should be there to support you. good luck

Hi Holly, Congrats on moving forward with your WLS. I had surgery at OHSU with Dr. McConnell and was thrilled because he performs the Duodenal Switch which has been so fantastic.
