David I went to a class by Emma Patterson a very excellent and well known surgeon a year ago the cost for the band was $22,000. I did some reseach on the Oregon Medical board and found a bariatric clinic and surgeon in North Bend about 3 1/2 hours down the coast maybe 4 depending on where you live. His cost for the the band was $10,000 lower, I had my band placed for $12,000 I beleive he his $12,500 now and that included everything. He offers three adjustments the first year. Plan on seeing him 4 times a year. But if you take four days off work and travel down there you still wont spend $10,000 on gas and hotel if you choose to stay.
His name is Dr. Tersigni. Feel free to email me and I can get you his number.
I love my band and I have dropped 10 sizes in a year, i went from a 20-22 to a size 8-10. I havent posted new photos on my profile for the past few months but there are some there as well as my story.
Good luck !

Also had Dr. Tersigni. Bay Area Hospital was great and the operation was a breeze. Had the laparoscopic RNY. The bill came to about $23,000. Cheaper than I thought it would be. But since I was only in the hospital for 2 days, that saved some money. The Red Lion inn down there gives discounts to patients in town for surgery, and their rooms have wireless internet, refrig and microwave in the rooms as well as pay TV too. And there is an airport there as well. Bay area Hospital also has RV hookups if you want to stay in your RV before and after your discharge. They require you to stick around for a week for a final followup before you can go home. Only bad point is followups, every 6 weeks to start , requires a 4 hr drive, but other than that I had no complaints with the hospital service - excellent! And Dr. Tersigni and his staff are great!
