I've gone from 270 to 210 since July 26. I'm doing fine losing. Got another 30 lbs to go. Now what happens when I reach my goal? How do I stop losing weight? Losing is no problem as most of the food I used to like is not my cup of soup anymore. Still get full pretty quickly unless eating fruit or melons. Anyone have problems maintaining their goal weight? Not going back up, but still going down?

Took long enough to get a reply here huh? I haven't even had much time for lurking lately, but sorry you had to wait so long! I am not at my goal yet and indeed am struggling to lose more so I can make my goal. However, I can tell you that one of the strategies is to eat more often and start adding some things that you've avoided for awhile. Not something that will trigger you or make you sick, but maybe adding in a few more starches and fats. Butter on a baked potato or something like that. That's just a quick suggestion but there are much healthier choices that I'm just not tuning into right now. Maybe make it a sweet potato or yam. Anyway, eating more frequently, drinking with meals and adding protein shakes inbetween meals can all help to stop or slow weight loss if you need it. Just make sure not to dive right into the unhealthy things that got you to being obese because they can be triggers that will make you regain later. Take it slow and just feel your way around. Most folks who have wls may get a little too thin (especially men) initially, but will gain 15-25 lbs back pretty soon after. There is a man in my support group who I think is now 2 years out. Last winter he got downright gaunt looking...just way too thin. But now he has rebounded about 20 lbs and is in fact having struggles with eating too much of the wrong things (cookies for one) and is having to watch it for more regain. So don't sweat it unless you get to the point of the unhealthy for a longer period of time. And things you don't like now you may find you regain a taste for as time goes on. There are many foods I couldn't stomach in the first 8 months that I could after that. Hope that helps! Dina
