Good morning Ladies
I was wondering if any ladies who are reading this have had any issued with their Bartholin's Gland.
About 2 years ago, I had an extremely painful incident related to mine. It seems as though the duct got plugged up and backed up into an enormous infection. I will not go into detail, but it got to the point that I was unable to walk for 4 days, and literally cried for days it was so blasted painful. It came back a week ago, but didn't get as bad as before - thank goodness!
I was scheduled for an endometrial eblation yesterday, but due to this problem with the Bartholin's gland, my doctor used the operating room time to do a marsupialization instead. So the endometrial eblation will have to wait till a later date.... darn it, I was looking forward to getting that done and over with!
To all of the ladies reading this post, have any of you experienced any problems with something like this? I personally don't have any friends or family who have experienced this particular problem and I'm feeling alone... silly huh?
To all the ladies that wrote me when I posted a few weeks ago about endometrial eblation, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to tell me of your experiences... my fellow members here are absolutely AMAZING
Wishing you all a fabulous Friday!
The bartholin's gland is a tiny gland on each side of the labia near the vagina. It produces secretions to lubricate the vagina. If the ducts in this glad get plugged up with dead skin cells or whatever it can produce a cyst ( a fluid filled sac) anywhere in size from a dime to a golf ball. Usually the painful ones are infected and can be treated with antibiotics or may need to be drained. If they occur frequently the procedure called "marsupialiazation" which means to make a pouch. My guess is that this keeps the cyst from reoccuring. Hope this helps!
