One year and Six days ago . . .
I started getting healthy. I am so happy to have had this surgery. It feels so good to feel good.
I am rid of so many medical issues. Okay, so I'm not totally rid of diabetes medication yet, but I do have a better HA1c then I've had in years--and there's still lots of time for it to get better. I feel now that there's a chance for that to happen whereas before surgery I had very little hope and knew that probably everything woud just get worse.
It has been fun getting to know a lot of the stories of folks here on this board. It has also been nice to have a place to come and "talk" to people who know what you're going through. Thanks to all of you for that.
Anyway, I talk to a lot of people who want to have this surgery but can't because of insurance issues, lack of money, fear, too severe medical issues and I just say a silent little prayer that they may find the happiness and health that I have.
Thanks to all of you for your support over the past year --- and six days
Pam
Wow Pam! You have done so wonderfully these past months - I'm so very happy for you. I know at first those diabetes numbers were not behaving, and at that time you were told that it would/could take time. So glad to hear that sure enough your body is responding to the positive changes that have taken place. People our age have all kinds of health issues to deal with, but it is such a relief to fight those fights while not reeling from the horrible effect morbid obesity has on all health fronts!
I share your grattitude that we were so very lucky to be able to have this surgery. You looked adorable in that dress at the last meeting, but you and I both know that as fun as the clothes are now (and they are getting pretty fun!) it is the hope and opportunity for our health that is the most significant change.
Thanks for your support to me over this past year.

Patty:
You are an inspiration to me. You are always upbeat and I love to read your posts. After typing all day I sometimes don't want to type in the evening, so I just read the posts and add one liners--now that's lazy.
Anyway, I appreciate your help and friendship this past year. It's always fun to see you at the meetings, too. Hope all is well with the family.
Pam
Pam,
I'm am so happy to hear how well you're doing! You look wonderful too!
I am thankful daily for this chance at a better life.....and it has certainly gotten better! Free from so many of the discomforts of being obese...physical and emotional. And I hope others on this board who've struggled with approvals find some way of doing it....it's so worth it!
I'm starting a new job tomorrow, so I've been really busy looking for a new job and now getting things wrapped up at my current one....but I still would dearly love to see everyone. Maybe we just pick a date...September 17th at 9am for bfast? Whaddaya think?

Hi Pamela,
It's so funny we live so close but we never get to talk.....!!! Things are going So GOOD.....I also feel blessed every day. I actually am right at my personal goal and way over the Dr.s so don't want to loose anymore weight really just get some plastics done down the road....to tighten some things up.
I too am guilty with usually just popping on like today and see where everyone's at. Would love to see everyone please let me know if you guys plan a get together.....This should be a real treat to see everyone as it has been ages since we all joined each other!
Hugs to you all,
Nadine
