how long is the wait??

Hello, I am having lap. bypass tomorrow in MA. I was just talking to my sister, who also would like to have this done, and lives in Oregon. She was wondering how long the process takes there?? For me it took just about 1 year. I thought I would post to see if any one had an idea? She is from Monmouth and has tricare insurance (I think that's what it is called)' also, if anyone knows what qualifications are required for this insurance. Mine was a BMI of 35 with comorbities or 40 without.. thanks, any information will be appreciated, I would like to help steer her in the right direction. Heidi

It greatly depends on the insurance. I have UHC and the whole process took just under 5 months. I got approved for surgery in a week after all my paperwork was submitted. I know that some insurance companies take longer to approve and some bariatric programs take longer to go through before surgery. Hope this helps a little. Missy
