Loosing weight and loving it

I have lost 23 lbs since February 23rd, My PCP put me on xenical and I feel great. I also am going to attend a group orientation on May 18th.

Hi Peggy, I'm a little confused....are you pre or post surgery. I guess its the group orientation thing that confused me. I've never known anyone who took Xenical before- your loosing and that's fantastic. I'm curious, are there any side effects that you have noticed? Di Oh, and does your insurance cover the cost or is it out of pocket?

Hi Diana: Thanks for writing. I am pre op. THe xenical does have side effects. It say that if you take them with fatty foods you will suffer the consequences diahrrhea. I learned the hard way. They are quite expensive, my husbands insurance does not cover them. They cost around $140 for 90 of them. They are 120mg. I go to a group orientation on May 12th. I am really looking forward to this new journey. My PCP is quite pleased with my progress. I am also taking a class from Kaiser Permanente called freedom from diets. My husband is also taking the class too. Peggy

Congratulations Peggy - on both counts! The Xenical my husband tried once and it really can catch you off guard even when you don't *think* you've had anything greasy! Dina
