Alischa, I went through all of my pre-Op with Dr. Patterson and then it turned out that my insurance would cover the surgery, but the not the hospital (Legacy) that she operated in. So, she sent me to Dr. O'Rourke at OHSU (scheduled for May 3rd). However, I did a lot of research on her before I started and I can tell you that she is one of the preeminent bariatric surgeons in the country. When she talks, every WLS surgeon in the country listens and carefully. If she's your doctor feel confident that you are good hands! Good luck! --Will p.s. also everyone I dealt with in her office was extremely helpful and nice.

Alischa: I started with Dr. Patterson and because the wait to get on her surgery schedule was longer, I switched to Dr. Hong. Dr. Patterson is considered an excellent surgeon. Dr. Hong is wonderful--you can't go wrong with either one of them. Good Luck. Pam

Hello ALischa, Dr. Patterson did my surgery 8 months ago. I was so happy to have her, as she came highly recommended. I almost had Dr. Hong but decided that I wanted the TOP of the ladder Dr. if I was going to have a Gastric Bypass. Lot's of people went with Dr. Hong and I hear nothing but great things about him. My only complaint with Dr. Patterson is she is so busy that after surgery and your post-op apt. you may never see her again. I have never seen her after my surgery, she has associates see me for all my post-ops apts. Other then that, I think you'll do fine. Best of luck! Nadine July 19, 2005 213/135/110?

Alischa, Be sure you do LOTS of homework. I did all of my pre-ops with Patterson. Frankly, I'm thankful my insurance didn't cover. Ask her what her stats are on death, complication, infection, and long-term weight loss on her patient database. Be sure to pay attention to the details. dina
