Hi everyone, Its my 5 th day after surgery, and today I'm feeling pretty good. I want to get into my garden so thats a good sign. As for pain , I only have port pain soerness actually like when I bend or laydow other than that not bad at all. believe it or not I feel some restriction and I know he said he left the band wide open. I see the doc on Thursday and I'm assuming he will tkae the staples out then. Does that sound right? Maybe I'll get moved to full liquids , because it will my 10th day after surgery. I have to take potassium, heparin {thats a shot in the tummy for blood thinner} it doesn't hurt at all, and flinstone vitamin, pepsid and roxicet for pain. plus I take from befroe the operation zocor for cholesterol and lexapro for depression, and occasionally a xanax for anxiety. in 2 weeks I will be taking ursodial when I'm on full liquids forgot what thats for and a vitamin b12 shot once a month starting in April 1st. WHEW. I walk our nieborhood twice a day and breath in that breathing thingy once an hour. Somebody asked me is this major surgery? I said if it isn't I'd hate to see what I'd have to take for that lol. My stomach makes sounds like the coast during rainy season. Somtimes it sounds like to cats fighting under a blanket. Well thats my update, according to my scale I lost 10 pounds. Everything is still new I baby myself and take it real easy. I pray evey night nothing goes wrong. So far so good. Talk to ya all soon, Diana oregon Dr. Mirande {excellent doctor}

Hi Diana, It sounds like you are right on schedule. At 5 days out I was feeling wonderful but really struggling to get in all the liquids each day. Even though we feel good, our insides are still really swollen. I didn't have any staples and didn't return to see Dr. Hong until 3 weeks, so what is normal at the 10 day visit, I don't know. I am six weeks out tomorrow and I also have those very strange sounds coming from my stomach. It's not hunger pains.....but a very strange, unfamiliar sound. It's loud enough for other people in the room to hear. I've got some very funny looks from my family! Keep up the good work! ~Della P.S. Saw my sleep specialist today. Did the overnight test at home for oxygen levels this weekend. I looks like I'm back at normal levels! No more struggling with that silly CPAP machine. She was very pleased with my weight loss.
