Congrats on your new life, beginning tomorrow! A great list you have compiled, one thing I found wonderful that you haven't listed is anti-bacterial wipes, they were wonderful. I did get to take a shower on the 3rd day, I did try to wear my nightgown from home but my IV was in the way so I had to change back. Good Luck and heal quickly, The best thing I ever did for myself and my family...

I bought a nightgown that could double as a dress so that when I left, I could put it on and then not have to change again once I got home (I was exhausted by the time I got home). AND... socks so that you don't have to slip into your slippers every time you get up. The hospital should have a heating pad and gasx for you.

Congrats Diana! I am so excited for you! I wish I had time to call you today but I was running all over with errands and then sleeping. I'll try to answer some questions while I'm on break at work right now. 1) Profile updates: Go into Update my profile - link above here in the menu bar. Sign in and choose General info. You can just start typing from there. 2) Heating pad: Not sure. I didn't need one. I suspect they have enough comfort measures in the hospital though. 3) I showered at the hospital. 4) A gown that buttons up the front or robe that will do that is great. One gal I know split the seams of the top of a gown and attached velcro so she could put it on and take it off without interfering with the IV's. Probably too late to do that for you though right now. Hospital gown will likely be sufficient. For your diabetes, generally it gets better once you've had surgery. Nothing is 100% but chances are you won't go hypoglycemic at that point. Since you are having the lap band, you can still have things like orange juice and the like to bring up your blood sugar if you need to. They should closely monitor you in the hospital and you may not need your diabetes meds when you leave. Just follow doc's orders and check your sugars often to be sure. You are going to be great - have a safe trip because I gotta say - the drive over is probably going to be the most dangerous part of this surgery! Dina

A belated "good luck and a prayer" to you! By now, you're probably all done and on "the other side". Just remember to take the time to rest and heal. Michele
