Hello yourself! How wonderful for you to be doing this at such a young age....that's my only regret....not doing it sooner. Best Wishes! Michele

Hi Dina, Thanks for the encouraging words. Right now I am waiting for the Consult with Dr. Hong. It is scheduled for March 30th. After that, the surgery will be at his convenience. I just wish I could do it on my own. But I know that I've lost weight before, but always let it creep back again. Maybe with a smaller stomach, I'll keep it off!! I must compliment you on your attentiveness. You are so thoughtful in replying to all of us. Thank you for being you!! Lara

Hi everyone (and especially Dinka who has contributed so much to pre-ops). I am Lisa from Gresham. I had Open RNY with Dr. Aguirre in Ensenada on January 27, 2005. I had some complications after surgery but am doing much better now. As of yesterday I am down 38 lbs and feel great. Still a little tired but I didn't move a whole lot pre-op when I weighed 322! I am 34 and married to a wonderful man...we don't have any children yet but have our hands full with 7 kitties and a yorkshire terrier (who is more high-maintenance than a child!) I have a lifetime membership to 24 Hour Fitness (hopefully they don't go out of business) and try to go 3 times a week. Since I'm still only 6 weeks post-op I don't really do any exercise besides walking on the treadmill. I would LOVE to do water aerobics but am still humiliated in a swimsuit. I am interested in attending a local support group. I tried to go to OHSU last month but missed it by a week. I've isolated myself so well over the past few years that I feel very awkward in meeting new people, but I do think a local support group would be beneficial to me. I love this website. My license hasn't been correct since 1991. Hope to talk to you all soon!

Hi Dina, I never realized there was a board just for us Oregonians. I had RNY on 2/2/05 with Dr Robert Read in Corvallis at the new Bariatric Center. I've lost 36 lbs so far with a total of 180 to lose. I'm single, 51 and work as a finance director of an auto dealership. I've been a banker and a mortgage broker so my past is checkered with money lending. I live outside of McMinnville on a small acreage with my 5 Schipperkes (dogs) and love to garden. I'll probably feed the dealership this summer off of my garden . I have English style perenial gardens so have many flowers as well. Life was good before surgery, but life is definately sweeter now that I can do more things. It was a pleasure just driving the car without my fat tummy touching the steering wheel and now there is 4" of room! I'm having a great time "shopping" in the back of my closet. Forgot I had so many nice clothes is smaller sizes! Thanks for bringing us all together! Love to read everyone's profile. Pat

I am a almost 34 yrs old and live in Lebanon. I am a RN at our local hosptial. I work in Labor and Delivery and absolutley love my job. I am married to a wonderful man and we have 4 fabulous children. With each kid I would lose my pregnant weight and with in a year had gain it back plus extra. Like all of you I tried everything under the sun to get it off, only to gain more. I had open RNY by Dr. Aguirre in Ensenada Mexico on March 26, 2004. I have lost 97 lbs to date. God forbid I make it to -100. I have been at a stand still for the past 3-4 months. My goal is to lose 8 more lbs. I want to be 149!! Just so you don't have to move the scale to the 150. This has been the best thing I have ever done! I would do it again in a heartbeat. My biggest fear is gaining it back. Hopefully within the next yr or two I can get my tummy done. Julie 255/157/149
