Hi all

Hi to all on this wonderful web site. I have been watching and reading this site for months now and finally got the courage to sign in. Thanks to you all, I've made the decision to have the WLS. In December, I met Dr. Patterson. SInce than I have jumped through all the hoops required by the Obesity Institute. Now I am waiting for the next pre-op meeting. Christi stated that it would Wednesday the 2nd of March. I'm so excited and yet somewhat apprehensive. I figured that I should take this opportunity to thank you all for your posts. I cannot put into words how much you all have helped me. I'll post more as I get closer to the date.

Welcome to the board! Everyone here is GREAT! Perhaps you can even make it to our next get-together! Other than that...just remember that ALL questions are good questions, so don't hesitate to ask them, or just ask for support and a hug when you need it! I would also recommend attending some support groups pre-op. I got alot of support and information from them. Michele

Lara, Welcome! I am so glad that in addition to the benefit I get from talking to people on this board, others may get helpful information from those conversations, to help them in their decision making process. I have found so much support and understanding here, and really do consider these wonderful people my friends. Don't worry about asking anything big or small. You will be in good hands with Dr. Hong. Dr. Hong at Oregon Clinic did my surgery as well. (Dr. Patterson was on maternity leave--is she back already?) Everyone there has been great and supportive and I had a great experience at the hospital too--Prayers going your way. Hugs, Stephanie
