stricture

Hey there ... I am coming to visit a friend and I had wls 6 weeks ago .. I MAY be getting a stricture .. and I know there are great drs in OR in case I need a dilation ... has anyone had one recently? AND/OR .. can you recommend someone .. so I will have his/her name handy ... I am flying out tomorrow .. I want to give this info to my dr as well .. Thanks a bunch! Happy day! Karryn

Karryn - Where are you going to be going in Oregon? It's a geographically huge state, so it would be good to know a general area so you can go there. A quick rundown - If you are going to be in the Portland Salem areas, I have heard great things about Dr. Peterson and I think Hong (?). Coos Bay/North Bend area is Dr. Tersigni, Eugene has Dr. Flanagan who has retired and isn't doing surgery anymore but still has his office open for the next year for his most recent post-op patients and might be avail for such a thing. Down here in Medford there are numerous bariatric surgeons - about 5 now (Can't remember all their names but I know Dr. Street, Eaton and a few others are in Medford and Dr. Stewart is in Ashland), and Klamath Falls has Dr. Mirande. I don't know about the rest of the state though. Let us know where and maybe someone from that area can help you with it. Hopefully you won't need it!!! Dina

Hi Dina ... Thanks for the note back .. oh my gosh ... are you in the know with the drs out in Oregon .. I will be in Salem/Portland for the 2 weeks .. So I will keep those drs you mentioned handy .. just in case I need the scope! Thanks!!!! I had one scope abt 3 weeks ago and it's really no big deal .. so that is why I am still going to head out tomorrow ... hoping that in fact my pouch is just a bit swollen . and after a few days of ice chips/protein shakes/water and soft foods .. that I will be fine ...
