I'm Back! Missed You All.
What - you didn't know I was gone?!?
My trip to Cancun Mexico, to accompany my daughter to a gymnastics meet, was truly a dream vacation. It really did have magic sprinkled on it. Everything went so perfect. The weather, tourquoise water with sugar sand beach, Hilton hotel with seven pools (one of them an infinity pool that looked like it joined the ocean) to my daughter placing second on bars with a 9.75 score.
Of course only you friends here can truly understand the meaning of this trip for me. For one thing, eight months ago it would have been my husband having to take her, because I really couldn't manage travel very well. Traveling with a gymnastics team plus parents is a very social thing, with lots get together meals and trips to enjoy the sites and scene of where ever the meet is held. Being so obese was hard enough in my regular day to day routine, but it always was an unpleasant wake up call when I got out of my house and normal activities. It would become so much more aware of how huge I was, and how difficult walking had become, and hard it was fitting into seats and crowded rooms.
Well....eight months and 150 pounds later, I was doing it all! No feeling self concious in my bathing suit (I could only hope to wear shorts, but I was wearing a bathing suit all week and not feeling like a stand out at all). I walked tons on the beach, shopped till we dropped in town after taking city the city bus. Here is the coolest moment of all. Scared ninny me, took a boat out and SNORKELED WITH THE FISHIES! It was so cool! Bright neon fish all around me. The vest fit with no doubts, I kept up with a pretty fast paced group for an hour.
For any of you hoping to have surgery, I am telling you that it has really changed my life for the better. Any of you who are post-op, understand how much this trip meant to me!
