Hi all, I posted earlier that I had a lot of questions.. well I've done a lot research since then. I've decided on Laprascopic DS surgery for many reasons. I called the surgeon's office and I'm set to go in on January 24th for the weight loss surgery seminar at OHSU, I'm stoked! I know it's just 1 step but I feel so much better for taking this first step. I'm supposed to be mailed an information packed about the seminar, I know I have a lot to do. What exactly I'm not sure yet as I know each dr is different. I've started writing down things I remember in regards to my weight loss/gain in the past. Here begins the long process, I hope that it's not too long I'll be thrilled if I have the surgery by summer but somehow I doubt that will happen Here we go

Congratulations Brianna! I am so happy you were able to work your way through the different kinds of surgery and find one right for you. Getting a DS via lap is something I hadn't heard of before - way cool! Keep us in the loop as to your progress! Dina

Hi Brianna, I am having surgery on Thursday--lap band...down in Mexico...then coming back home to Florida, putting our house up for sale and moving to Oregon. We haven't quite decided where, but most likely in the Valley area near Eugene. I went to my regular doctor ( who I go to as little as possible..since no medical coverage...so all out of pocket expenses UGH) and I swear he knew less about the lap band than I did....kinda scarey. I started on my Pc a WLS folder and just copied postings into word docs throught out my search--as well as especially useful or thoughtful emails I got from various folks here on the board. We are all so lucky to have each other. I think our COMPOSITE knowledge of practical events is fantastic. Of course we all have our days when we want to whine, ***** etc....but that is ok too. Best of luck in finding the right doctor. Gail
