CHECK IN!!! We must all have exciting lives....
....because we just aren't posting much anymore, are we? I do come in and lurk a little but just don't have as much time to post anymore. I don't like to post a response to one person and then leave others out, so I tend to lurk much anymore.
So how is everyone doing? Maybe we should all post our current status here? Pre-op where you are in your journey...post op, what your loss stats are.. Whaddaya say?
I'm post op 7.5 months and 93 lbs down with a preferred 80 or so to go, but I'll take what I can get! I just want to see 150 one of these days!
Dina
Hey there.
I am doing well. I just started working in the cranberry bogs yesterday. 8 hours of standing on your feet and sweeping berries around in the 50 degree water... What a blast... I have lost 46 pds and 41 1/2 inches since September 16th. I have 80 more to go till I hit what I will consider a good weight for myself. I still don't know why the world would think that 150-160 would be my ideal weight. I am 6'0 and would look like Ihcabod Crane. Without the Headless Horseman following me..... Anyways I think this is a great way to see if people are alive. I look forward to reading what everyone else is up too.

Hola Chickas! As of today I am 12 days PRE-op. I can't believe how close it is getting! Dina-Girl, I'll give Dr. Aguirre a hello from you. The one thing I am very excited about is BEING OFF WORK!!!! I'm still a little nervous about surgery....just the unknown. But, after hearing stories like Dina and Tracy's I am soooooo excited to be on the loosing side. Wish me luck! Kathleen
Oh Kathleen - that time is coming so quickly! You will be having your surgery sometime after the reunion then. You'll have to ask him how it went when you go in. I'm sure he will be happy to see the results of his handiwork there.
As for being nervous, I've been looking at people who go to the same surgeons locally and I have to say that Dr. Aguirre's complication rate is much much lower than what I am seeing locally, so based on that I'd go down and look at it like a great vacation where you also get to start your new life!
Do tell Dr. A "hi" for me and that I'm sorry I didn't make the reunion!
Dina
I'm here! Pretty much the same story as you.....VERY busy right now, so I tend to lurk because I can't reply to all and don't want to leave anyone out. Flying to NY on Monday for a week....yeah!
Post-op just over 3 mos and down 63lbs! Down a total of 191lbs from my high weight, 3 years ago (one of these days I'll get my "catalyst" picture scanned and put on here, I always carry it with me as a reminder). I'm currently at 252, so I've got another 92 to go!
Michele
Yeah Dina! You will save our Oregon board, and get us going again. I will often respond to posts, but don't often initiate them. I have really gotten a lot from all of your stories, so let's not lose our support system here!
I am just about 7 months post op. It seems like it went so fast, yet being pre-op seems a million miles ago. I am down 122 pounds, and have broken into the hundreds. That was a big one for me. I am currently 198, hope to reach 160.
I am still losing, but soooooooo slow now. I am still pretty good just about all the time, with strange unpredicted moments like last week, where I ate two sugar cookies and a snack bag of Fritos on the same day. Unlike pre-op though, those moments don't mean the end of all efforts to keep losing.
Good to hear from you. 93 pounds WOW!
Patty
Hey Patty!
198.....terrific for you!
I started out at just 5 lbs less than you, we have the same goal weight...and we're the same age w/teenagers.
Please post a new pic soon, I'd love to see what you look like now. When did you notice the loss slowing down? I've been right around 20lbs per month so far and dreading a plateau or sharp decrease in losing...but I'll just have to practice some patience and fortitude, knowing it'll come off.
Great going girl!
Michele
