This may be a dumb question, but I am a bit confused.....I am having surgery tomorrow and well DR. Patterson requires a 3 day bowel prep only liquids. Well the information sheet say's Nothing to eat or drink from midnight the night before. So are they considering the bowel prep of liquids only, eating and drinking? because there isn't any eating taking place...or does that mean that you can eat a meal (solid) as long as it is before midnight????? And if you eat a meal before midnight are you going to be in trouble? Thanks!! Trisha

You can only have liquids--no solid meals. You can have your liquid meal at 11:00 at night if you want but nothing after midnight. Good luck on your surgery tomorrow (I'm assuming it's tomorrow). I had Dr. Hong out of Dr. Patterson's office and was quite pleased. Pam

Hi Trisha- I am 4 wks post op. The bowel prep is 3 days clear liquids only, then surgery prep is nothing by mouth after midnight! It is very dangerous to eat or drink 12 hours prior to having surgery. I had something to drink (water) at 11:55pm the night before surgery. All went well for me. Email me if you have any questions! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!! Karen
