I was visiting the Oregon forum and have noticed and abundance of post regarding the national formum and was wondering where all the Oregon posters were? I guess I figured that maybe I could throw a post out there; so here it is. I guess I will give an update on me. I was 450 pounds at my heaviest and I am now at 240. I am 6' tall and am 1.25 years post op. I do karate now and just recently broke my foot getting ready for a tournament...so, no tourny for me. Well anyway, this post isn't much but it's better than another updat on the national OH convention in LA BTW, I won't be there...can't afford it or else I would go. Happy losing all! -Chris

Hey there! Yes, the board is a little slow right now....don't know what's up with that! There is a group of us working at getting together in the next week or so. I know you live a ways away, but you're welcome to come! My high was 443, then 315 at surgery date, now 263 at almost 3 mos. out! Feeling soooo much better, and looking it too! Sorry to hear about the broken foot...no fun! I've had more than my share of breaks and sprains.....so I feel your pain, lol. Let me know if you'd like to try to attend the "get together" and I'll be sure to keep you informed. Take care, Michele

Hi Chris, Yes, your right it has been very slow. It seems everyone I know is busy, whether they are on this board or not. I guess it's the time of year, I know myself I am running all the time. I have a meeting tonight, and then something after that. I'm getting overwhelmed with all this stuff coming all at once. I need a break but don't know where to take it or squeeze it in! I had surgery on Jan. 22, 2004 and have slowly lost 80 lbs. a runner up for Plateau Queen. Finally I am below 200 and that is a wonderful thing in itself, the last time I weighed under 200 I was a teenager. Sorry about your foot, hope it is healing quickly.... I would like to go to a convention but no funds available! Congrats on your great weightloss, I loose a couple and then gain one back that is just my weird way of doing things. I have been lurking alot but your right just not much going on right now. Thanks for waking me up, I'll try to post more! Catherine 275/195/150ish 1/22/04

I would be interested in a get together up in Portland; I am going up there today to meed a friend of mine for lunch. He has been one of my best friends since the 1st grade and we have seen each other in about 5 years; he may not even recognize me. I am on a 3 month plateau as well now; kinda just stuck at 240-245 pounds. I am 6' tall and big boned as well. My nutricianist mentioned that this just may be where my body feels comfortable at being at. My diabetes is gone (Dr took it off my records) and my high blood pressure and hypertention is gone as well. I am pleased with that. Time to just maintain and enjoy my new quality of life.

Chris. You have done so awesome. I bet your friend is taken back at your loss. I can't wait to do that to people. I look forward to the day when someone tells me they saw my hubby with another woman, and it be me... Broken foot? OUCH!!!! At least it wasn't your head. I have seen those people really get with it. I wonder when they will have a convention in Oregon. I can see me going to one there. A big ole bunch of us Coasties car pooling up. That would be a blast. Anyways. Have a great day with your friend. Tracy...
