What Is The Best Protein Powder for Dr. Patterson's pre-surgery diet?
Hi All,
I am now waiting for insurance approval. I have to lose 10-15 lbs. before surgery. Dr. Hong has put me on the tuna-cootage cheese-protein shake diet. I hope someone can help me with these questions.
1. Can you mix low fat Carnation instant breakfast with the protein shake in the morning?
2. What is the best protein powder to use on this diet? There are so many out there.
I am sure some of you have done this diet before. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all of you.
Roberta
My husband likes the Keto powdered shakes. Banana Cream Pie is great and so is the Peaches and Cream. These are milk based and I am not crazy about milk. Most canned and powdered protein drinks are milky.
I found Nectar Strawberry/Kiwi and Harvey Wallbanger protein powder when I had my surgery and it was like fruit punch not milky at all.

CIB: Know nothing about it. Haven't tried the sugar free kind and it's been years since I've had the other kind.
Best protein shakes:
Carb Countdown chocolate milk is the best. Taste like the real thing. Regular Carb Countdown is wonderful for latte's and such.
Unjury has some great proteins out - you get it online at unjury.com.
The company that makes whey fruity makes a FABULOUS chocolate that tastes like a chocolate malt when mixed with milk (or low carb milk). Loved that one.
The best non-milky protein drink I've had is Protidiet tropical punch. It's served cold but is like drinking Jello almost. It is made of a gelatin protein which explains that. It's very yummy!

Well, I can get them in Brookings from my friend's physical therapist who carries them, but otherwise you can get them online here: http://www.medabolix.com/shop/index.asp?parent=134 as well as several other places (just do a google search).
Good luck!
