Hi everybody! I am new to this particular group, although not new to OH. I tend to lurk on the main message board and in the forum for my surgeon. But I need help! I am relatively new to the Portland area and my busy travel schedule prevents me doing a lot of things, like finding a good doctor. I am 3 months post-op and desperately need a primary care doc who is WLS friendly. I don't care which part of town, although I live near the airport. In my opinion, an excellent doctor will be worth the drive across town! Any help is greatly appreciated!! Many thanks, Dicey

Hi Dicey, I am not too far from the Airport just over the Bridge in Vancouver off the 205. I know there is a Dr. over here, and I don't have his name right off, but I can get it to you if you are ok with driving over here? It's about 10 min. drive. Let me know and I will get it for you. I am going to start seeing him as well. I had to go to another Dr. at his office because he was booked and I needed my pre-op tests, and I don't recommend the Dr. I had to see, she was NOT WLS friendly. But this Dr. is, as he was recommended from my Surgeon in Portland..... Ciao..........Nadine PS. Welcome to the Pacific Northwest! RNY 7/19/04 203/176/110?

hey dicey, I moved back to the northwest when I was 3 months post op too.. I had my surgery in florida. it was HELL finding a dr.. and impossible to find a WLS surgeon that would take me on as a patient. I was told by the dr. at vancouver clinic that he would see me "if" I had complications.. I ended up (medicade for ins.) finding a PCP in washougal. they are WLS friendly but they don't know crap about the surgery it's self.. I am thier only patient (or at least at the time) they called my surgeon in florida and got all my records and information regarding lab work needed and such.. so my follow up care has been lab work and vit b-12 shots.. good luck and welcome to the northwest.. hope you like it here. (I couldn't wait to get back home.. I was SICK of the sunshining all the time.. LOL) Theresa
