what do you think?
Hi everyone, my name is Susan. I have only posted a few times, but I read here every day. I need a little feedback about weather this is a good thing or a bad thing. My surgeon is Dr. Patterson. I am a Legacy employee and my insurance is ODS-MHN. They did not deny my surgery but it is on hold. They want to know if I have lost any weight since my psyche. eval. And what kind of exercise and if I am doing it. They also want me to use the cpap at least a month. Also another TSH and hemoglobin a1c. What does this sound like to you guys? thanks , Susan
Susan,
Dr. Patterson was my surgeon as well....! She's great! Anyhow, I don't your Healthcare Insurance so I am assuming this is normal for them. Most insurances want to see 6 months to 1 year of weight loss trials, or documented weight loss history by an MD. Sounds like also they want to know that you have tried to excersize and weight is NOT coming off. What ever it takes to get you approved you may have to fib a bit....."You didn't hear that from me"!!! The Cpap must mean that you have been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and they want you on it, so after surgery you can use it too, until you don't need it anymore. Blood tests are standard and especially if you have any abnormal ones prior to surgery.
That's my take on it...............Best of luck!
