Hey I'm looking for a new way to help boost my metabolism. Any suggestions? I love the ECA stacks...but they are SOOO bad for you! (I know I know I know!) I walk from PSU to Washington Park every day (thats a nice hill!), but I need to add something that will get my body convinced to start losing again. thanks! Tammers

What are ECA stacks? Have you tried adding ankle or wrist weights to your walk? I've been doing Pilates and BodyFlow (a mix of Pilates, Yoga and Tai Chi) for a couple of years now and love it! It's helped tone, but I don't know if it's affected my meta.

hi Michele! How are you doing? When are you going to come out and party?! 'ECA Stack' is an 'ephedrine-caffeine-aspirin' combination. Separately they have different functions, but together in the right dose combination It is the only proven way to artificially boost your metabolism. It is also VERY bad for your heart and blood pressure. ECA used to be the main ingredients in almost any diet pill. Now it is illegal to sell the combination, but the ingredients can still be purchased individually at any pharmacy. I used to have ankle weights, but I took them with me when I went to have surgery and couldn't carry them back. I should get more. I do have anti-fat shoes that have made my legs look a lot more toned (don't laugh!) I used to take the bodypump class when I went to cascade- I was at my very smallest then, but I never stayed for the flow class because I had to get in some cardio and couldnt schedule it except after the pump class. They have a flow type class at 24 hr fitness but it is while I'm at work. Thanks for your tips! Tammy

Thanks for the info on the stacking.....I never know about this stuff! lol I used to do bodypump too! Had to quit when I broke my arm last fall...had a metal plate put in it and it's still very weak. I wouldn't even attempt to do a weight class with it right now, but I really enjoyed that class. Hopefully, I"ll be able to resume at some point. I did bodystep, then bodypump afterwards on Saturdays. Bodyflow was on Sunday mornings so it was sort of a treat after a long week. The only parts I didn't like was the "sun salutation" repeatedly...ugh! But it was such a good stretch for me and by the end of the session, I was drenched so I know I was working hard at it. Then came the cool down...what Kevin referred to as "nap time", lol. Love a quick meditation! Sorry, but I did laugh....what the hell are "fat shoes"? I'm sure you don't mean what I mean....now that my feet are size 8, my old size 8.5W and 9W's are my version. I would dearly love to go out....I NEED to go out. I've been in such a funk lately, sort of a depression I think. I have social opp's and I don't take them, I'm still struggling with getting my food in and my energy level is shot to hell. My labs were fine except for potassium. I need to kick myself in the butt and do something! I can't go the next two Friday nights, but I'd be available on the 8th if you guys go out then. Would love to finally meet you! I'm also planning on the mid-week get together, whenever that turns out to be. Mid-week is easy to do for me, it's the weekends that are hard. TTFN, Michele

Hi Michele, I know it's really hard to go out when you are in a funk, but that's the time you really need to Force yourself to just do it. I have to 'work' really hard on that so I wont have to go back on anti-depressants, especially in the winter. I love bodypump! I wish I could afford to go back to cascade, but it was $45 a month, and 24hr is only $17. If I go back I'll definitely check out the Sunday Morning Bodyflow. I could never do the step class before...too HARD! The fat shoes are called "MBT", it stands for "Masai Barefoot Technology" They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! They supposedly make you burn 3 times more calories than walking without them, and they also tone your legs. My legs are still fat...but they are slimmer than before, and not lumpy. I've also notice they don't get sore the day after a lot of walking. They are very cusiony too, I can run and my knees don't hurt. They are Very expensive though. We are going out this Saturday 9/25 to Harmony Inn on 82nd & King road for Karaoke, drinks, and dancing. Next Friday, we are going back to Pete's Lair. If you do a mid week thingie, let me know! If I'm not at work I'd love to come. Tammers
