friday roll call

Hey everyone.. what's happening out here in oregon and SW WA.. school is back in (WHOOO HOOO) now it's football practices and games and dances.. oh teenagers!! I'm happy for my kids that they get to have so much fun in HS.. I was too miserable to enjoy it. have we all noticed that we have new people on the boards?? New people to welcome and get to know.. I wish some of the people who are M.I.A. would check in and say HELLO... mary, marcie, theresa s, shelly, pam, nadine, chris, and a few others that I am forgetting.. (sorry, i'm a blonde don't expect too much!! LOL) also I would like to get some feedback from people who are intrested in getting together in october for coffee/dinner at stanelys corner or ??? I promise no wild partying that night.. just talk/catching up/getting to know the new ones and such.. on a somber note.. did you all know that president bush is in oregon city today??? it FREAKED ME OUT this morning.. I had been hearing sirens all morning and jets flying by as well as helicopters for a good 1/2 hour.. then I seen it on the news that he was on his way to oregon city.. the last time I was this close to him was 9/11.. I was in bradenton florida and he was at an elementry school in sarasota florida "5" miles away from me.. at the exact time the twin towers were flown into.. the IDIOT MEDIA people were telling his EXACT LOCATION all over the freaken news.. they rushed him out of the school (thank god for the children becuase I was worried about an attack on the school..) got him into airforce 1 and then they kept on telling us his location... IDIOTS!! I was screaming at my TV for them to shut up.. I wasn't so much worried about "HIS" saftey as I was for anyone under him and around him.. now keep in mind that they later found out that the terrorists were living and training in venice florida.. which is only "10" miles away from sarasota.. THEY NEW HE WAS THERE.. we all knew it as they had been telling us for weeks ahead of time. ok, so there was my panic attack and memory for the morning.. tammy and I are doing our every other friday night out TONIGHT if anyone would care to join us.. get your dancing/singing shoes on and come out and join us. Hey Theresa, I'm so glad school is back in session! I am taking a week off work next month...no kids, no work... Welcome to all the new folks! Feel free to ask any questions you might have to the board or just email one of us directly. Where is Stanley's corner? You know I'm game for getting together as long as I don't have to eat (but I'm sure they have coffee or something!) Now where's those dancing shoes??? I am SOOO ready to start this weekend!! Hi Theresa, I want to go out in October!! I know I will be at the beach on the 8th for my best friends wedding. (I am praying for a decent day as it will be on the beach!) Sarah - great day for a wedding on the beach, you can tell your friends for me! My DH and I were married Oct 8th (1993) in Gold Beach. But we stayed indoors just in case of bad weather (it was gorgeous). Dina

ok the weekend of the 8th you and dina are going to be at the beach.. you guys need to try to hook up down there..maybe for a quick cup of coffee or something.. how does the week work for you? I am thinking a wed even around 7p.. talk to you soon theresa

I'm here. Can't believe it but I slept for 11 hours today. I've been burning the candle at both ends for quite awhile and it just caught up with me. I haven't been online for over 24 hours....that's quite a feat for me! I've been trying to get my focus away from the computer since it's such a huge draw for me. I want to go out and do things and when I get online, several hours can pass while I get sucked from one thing to another. I want to meet for coffee...I want to come up and meet all these people I've been talking to for so long! My vacation is the first week of October and I know we are going to the coast for our anniversary on the 8th, but who knows where we'll go from there. If you guys make some plans and set a date, maybe I can talk DH into a trip up there around that time. No promises, but I'll try! I've just been losing so slowly, but I'm down to 242 which is 83 lbs. And of course, I posted before that I was wearing a size 18, which is fabulous. Then I found a couple pair of brand new very very nice size 20's at Goodwill for $3.99 each that fit just right. Of course, those size 20's were more of what I was expecting my size to be anyway, so I'm not disappointed. On the Bush note, I know he came to Medford a couple years ago. I can't remember exactly when it was, but it was after all those major fires. I live close to the airport, so I did in fact see AF1 fly right over my house. I am not the kind of person who would make the trek to see him though. Dina

hey lady, we all want to meet YOU too.. so I am gonna try to work around you and your schedual.. you noticed that you and sarah are going to be on the coast at the same time.. you guys should try to hook up for coffee.. what the heck right?? anyway, I am thinking in the mid week on a wed.. around 7p.. that probably is going to be out of the question for you huh?? let me know Theresa

Well, mid week might be okay. I have to wait a little to make sure they aren't going to screw with my first 2 days of vacation is all. Have to talk to DH also. Set it up and I'll try to work around it!!! Dina

Theresa, I will plan on coming - a Wednesday would be great, but I can make any night. 9/11 was so dramatic for every one of us. I know I felt uncertain and scared, I can only imagine if Bush was right in my back yard. I had no idea he was coming to O.C. I can't wait until the election is over. See you soon. Patty
